High Rise Spoiler
High Rise Spoiler
Hello everyone I'm new to Cobalts so this is probably a dumb question but is the High Rise spoiler a direct bolt on in place of the low rise one? The dealership wants 630 bucks installed I figure I could just buy th spoiler from a local dealership unpainted and get it done cheaper at my Uncles body shop ?
Thanks
Thanks
It's a direct swap, getting the spoiler off is a bitch but you need some form of heat, hair dryer or heat gun, and apply heat to the bottom because in addition to 4 bolts (FRAGILE) it's held on with double sided tape (like the door moldings) so make sure you loosen that stuff up too, and get some more to replace it with otherwise it's gonna wobble around like a ****. But it's not that hard, including heat-up time and all that it only took me about an hour to do the swap.
Keep in mind that coupe spoilers swap with coupe spoilers, sedan with sedan - the bolt patterns are different.
You could use a sedan spoiler on a coupe (or vice versa) but you would be drilling your trunk lid and filling the old holes.
Like Spooled said ^^^, there are spoilers available on ebay, prepainted and ready to install for a lot less than the dealers want

thanks for posting the thread. honestly im not a fan of the wingless. looks nice and all but just not my style. i prefer either a trade for a high rise or if i had to spend money id buy the rk sport wing. pure sexyness imo
