the screen is a jensen vm9022, their newest model....for half the price of the alpine and pioneer headunits people are buying you get the same features...sometimes more, for instance, the bluetooth is integrated on this unit, no bullshit module to purchase, and the NAV system is 300 more, so for around 850 you get nav/bluetooth/ipod/usb/sd/3.5mm etc.

All I did w/ the ebrake is rip that ghetto plastic piece of it..I'm going to buy a boot for it today.

not sure about the steering wheel yet..I have a buddy that does vinyl jobs...I can't paint it because krylon fushion flakes off after a while, even when clearcoated a billion times when it gets touched constantly. The reason I chose those panels to paint black is because they're rarely touched. I'm working on the rear deck now I'll update on that later.

What year is yours? I have an 07 LT and I wanna put the Vm9022 in it but what all do I need as far as the wiring harness or do i need to buy the interface kits from like pac-audio or peripheral electronics to get it to work?

nah, no new pics yet, been busy lately.....but tommorow after i get my car serviced (hopefully not some 7 hour bullshit for oil change / tire rotation like last time, keeping a warranty is such a bitch) I'll be doing some more stuff like adding an ebrake boot and carpeting the rear and C pillars.

JT, all you have to do is get a Metra or American International dash kit, which would be much easier to get/buy from a local audio shop (no shipping either). It's a generic kit that applies to HHRs, G5s, Cobalts, etc. Installation is a piece of cake as far as the dash kit is concerned, but you're going to have to dremel saw out a plastic piece in the back of your dash and bend the metal back that's behind it or else the unit won't sit right and the cooling fan may get blocked.

lol @ mini vac comment.....and sorry not much of an update as of now...dealership took forever again w/ servicing. I did get the shifter boot on which has a blue LED strip on it and installed the parking brake bypass switch to allow dvds/pictures to be viewed while the car is driving...I'm working on the rear deck right now I'll post pics tommorow morning

oh and as for the paint, krylon fushion satin black w/ duplicolor clearcoat as well as bulldog prep for problem plastics...and yes, it's shiny :p

What about the wiring harness do i have to buy one from pac-audio or peripheral electronics. After I modify the pieces behind the headunit will the factiry head unit still be able to be put back when my lease is up.

yes factory headunit can be installed still w/o them noticing the modification to the back of the dash either....ask for the wiring harness at a local audio shop as well, they'll set you up with the kit/harness for around $27.

will post pictures of updates in the morning

Good luck with getting that car looking right. Before I had my dealer start looking for cars I told him right away that I wanted the dark interior

i don't have a clue....i've been thinking about going to a junkyard and looking for a wrecked balt w/ black interior but there's not too many in my area w/ balts....I was thinking about just dying it black but I don't want to risk it until someone else tries it first

Now you need to continue those blue racing stripes up the back window w/blue tint...never mind that would look dumb, but you should tint your windows.
