HONEST Opinions needed on an idea

So this winter, along with some other...goodies ( ) I want to continue to step the car's game up a bit. A bit more fun engine-orientated stuff, possibly new wheels if I can get my current ones sold, and I've been thinking about body stuff. So, I STILL can't find a kit that looks moderately good on these cars. I have the CF front lip already, and the car is decently low on stances (will be going lower).

But I stumbled upon a 'rare' body kit for these cars that only so many of were made. I'm not perfectly sure on how I feel about it, but I wanted to get some opinions on it. So tell me what you all think of the Gravana/AMG widebody? Think the snobalt could pull it off, or would it ruin the car? Honesty won't hurt my feelings at all ladies and gents, I'm looking for it.

Main thing I'd do is get the rear vent molded over to have a clean rear fender as well as make the fenders flow into the car a bit better. (Obviously I wouldn't have the wing in the second and third pictures):

In my opinion i dont think it looks terrible. I like the fenders and i think they will look real good if you make the flow better like you said. but not a huge fan of the front bumper. To open for me. Reminds me of how open the Mazda front ends are.

Not a fan of the bumpers. However the front would allow for more intercooler air flow

I agree with this. I like your idea as well about closing the vents. However, it still looks too "abrupt" to me. It doesn't flow properly from fender to door. Also, not a fan of the front bumper and its openess.

Not a fan, plus you have to worry about fitment and all that fun stuff, I would just leave it.

this isnt going to help your car function better

doesnt look to good but its not the worse ever either.....fitment i bet sucks. you will spend more money getting it fitted to your standards then on the performance investment in your car.

hold off and when im done with my stuff ill make a second set how about that

This is the feedback I wanted. I was on the fence about it. Thanks guys. Still, more feedback is welcome.

Red: I wasn't really entertaining the idea to be a functional piece, more of an aesthetic than anything else. The drag added wouldn't be outrageous either.

Omiotek: Haha, of course bro. we'll talk.

But the entire front of it is open. and it's it's wider, so more frontal area. I don't see how it wouldn't be more drag.

I honestly think if you did anything else to your car exterior wise, i'd tear up a little bit .... Your car is sooo perfect.

Not a fan of ANY bodykit. Period. Insurance won't buy you replacement panels so you can be FRESH LIKE A HONDA. If you don't like the body the way it is, you bought the wrong car IMO. Swap out other bumpers or w.e from other later model years is cool though.

Oh I'm not saying it won't be more drag. I'm saying it wont be huge. I forget the exact way but the way its shaped ends up helping more than hinder. It is based if AMGs

but on an amg its designed for a reason and you need to look at whats behind the bumper..... on the cobalt theres nothing there so the air is going to hit things like wheel well skirts with no where to exit. the drag will be massive.

anyways. dont do it. just because its what i said

My intention wasn't to look "fresh like a honda". Though there are many quality, nice honda kits out there, especially for the s2ks. It was bouncing an idea off the community that I was wondering about. I don't have insurance buying me replacement anything either.

I also didn't say I didn't like the original body. I said (in my original post) it was more of a 'I found a rare part. What's everyone's idea if it if I got it?'

And there are no later or other models. :P

Well yeah its the flow for brake cooling and there structure is a bit more rigid.

I can't see it increasing exponentially though.

I've been convinved not to already lol.

it would be a big difference compared to the Mercedes. that's like taking a gtr look alike body kit on a cobalt and saying it will aerodynamically perform like a gtr... .it wont.

everythings designed a certain way on the car its designed for....for a reason

I'm comparing it to as it is now, not against the merc. Cobalt drag coefficient now (stock) is "meh". Nothing to write home about. 1g DSMs have better.
