Hood Vent

I've been looking at hoods and vents all over the place but can't find anything like I'm looking for. I'd like to get a vent or hood with a vent that looks like the vent on the new stingray and zL1. Anyone come across anything like this?

Never seen one like it. Get that hood, cut the vent out and get it put on at a bodyshop

I'm not sure it would look good on a balt. The hood likes don't flow with it

Let alone paying someone to install it right. I think the zl1 vents are carbon so the price is justified

I'm still thinking about doing it but knowing the cost now it will be a while. Might even see about putting it in a different hood but I'm not sure... a lot of options to explore still.

lol, it wouldn't get wet enough under it to do any damage. You can wash your engine.

The functional dilemma is why I was interested in the new stingray vent because not only does it increase air flow and so cool the engine. It also creates a downward force when you accelerate making you more aerodynamic. But seeing how it is designed specifically for the 'vette I'm not sure how it would effect a Cobalt. And that unknown with the cost makes hard to justify over a hood designed for our car. The reverse cowl looks cool but if it's not functional then all the looks in the world don't matter. :/

The whole hood impliments some sort of downforce but even then its not great as air flows back over the curved surface .... For instance a splitter is effective in the sense that the bumper creates a dam to divert air down and the splitter catches it before it just goes under the car. Being that the windshield is slanted backwards there is no air damn for the hood or anything. The air just flows back and over the room. The little kick up in front of the vent in there primarily to block air from flowing directly into the vents. It gives it a split second chance to escape while the air flowing over the kick up carrys it away. In terms of frontal downforce it probably does nothing.
