They are really easy to install. Just to let you know though, when taking your original hood off, make sure you have some place to lay the hood down without scratching it. I made sure I was extra extra careful with this. It took me about 2-3 hours to install my hood because I had some major fitment problems. But it should only take you like 30-45 minutes tops.

Your SS hood is full carbon fiber memphisr?
Thinking about hoods, and that one doesn't look to bad to me, and "SS" style goes with the SS of the car!

I read somewhere yours cracked. Is that because something hit it, or it cracked on its own?
I've never had a CF hood, do they ever get dull or does sunlight effect them? vette stays in garage, cobalt stuck outside...for now :P

LOL I cracked it. It didn't line up right. It wouldn't close when I first put it on. So I went to lift the hood back up to see what the problem was, one of the edges near the front windshield was overlapping and hitting that rubber piece, I lifted the hood too far up, and crack!!! Only the far right edge is cracked and would not be noticeble to the naked eye. Trust me. I had a hard time finding the spot but I know it's t here and it bothers me

I bought my hood off ebay. It's the IPP SS hood. It's carbon fiber on one side of the hood. I haven't seen it on ebay ever since I bought mine.

It looks sweet. You can see the scoop right in the middle of the car sitting in the drivers seat.

I'll try and get some pictures of it today sitting in the drivers seat and from different angles and hopefully will upload them later tonight. Then I'll post the pics in this forum.

I would suggest if you want a really phat non-cf hood going away from cf and buying a GM hood for 259 I believe then having a buddy or a body shop cut a hole for a scoop and placing one out of a junk yard on it. I do body work and we were going to do that with mine but unfortunately time constraints everything. I would like to see someone else do it. Custom body work always turns out to be the best in the end. Oh and BTW I believe all the distributors for CF are back ordered. I tried to buy one instead of GM hood but it was back ordered like 2-3 months

I have the ram air hood on my cavi. That one was the one i was looking at, but i just don;t like how its not as high as mine is. Its a lil more low profile. The one on my cavi looks to be like an inch higher maybe. It looks good, just wish it was a tad bit higher!

I'd like to see this too. I love the design... but I've never been crazy about the CF look. I was thinking of getting this hood (SS style) and getting it painted. It's lighter than the stock hood... and it'll look sharp on the car.
