Talking How bout powder coating??

Okay, so i baught these 18 inch Gunmetal wheels and was high advised to repaint them becuz the gunmetal is chipping, well my brother saw them today and offered to have them powdered black for me (he's the manager at a steel factory), I've worked there b4 and know how good the powder coat comes out on sheet metal, but how well does it work with aluminum and how does it do against chipping and stuff??..

if ne1 has Black powdered wheels i would love to see some pics!!!

thanks!!

If tey are chipping you might want to have them media blasted first so it doesnt happen again

I sent my 18 in. ss/sc wheels to a powdertech place and they bead blasted them really nice and they are powdercoated a glossy black! And the powdercoat really looks like it will not be chipping, I don't have them on yet.

Here's a shitty pic. Don't want to give out more pictures cuz I'm gonna show them all when I submit for COTM.

You'll like the look of it.

The gunmetal wheels are actually powder coated, so they will have to be blasted. If you're going to run them all year I'd recommend getting an acrylic clear top coat. They should hold up much better than painted wheels though, even without clear.

I would just take em to a body or machine shop, and have them media blasted. DIY nasty stripping chemical FTL.

Kind of a dumb question but where can you get stuff powder coated and how much do they normally charge?
