If you have projectors, autolights will just turn on your low beams at night. If your talking about DRL, it uses high beams instead. There is no need to turn off autolights unless you are using HID's in stock reflector housing with a cheap ebay HID kit.

I cant do that with mine

I wouldnt worry about it, your light come on automatically for a reason, its just not a good habit to turn them on and off alot in a short amount of time

You have an '05 and DRL's are turn signals so this is COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY.

Just a heads up.

You can, however, follow outlined procedures on this page if you desire to not have DRL's, it's completely legal to go without them in the United States.

Why? Auto lights simply turn your headlights on when the time is right, or close to being right. Yeah it might be slightly sketchy at dusk, but it wouldn't ever fluctuate fast enough to have any affect on your HID's.

from my experience, i noticed that my drl are dimmer than when i turn my knob to low beam. im sure it uses less watts for the drl (auto lights) so that is more than likely why they are telling you to disable this for your HIDs. I believe there is an option for turning the drl completely off in the dic..if im not mistaken, its in the menu where you reset your oil life percentage after you change your oil. i cant remember exactly but you have to hold down two buttons to get into that menu. ill look at mine tomorrow to make sure...but maybe this will help

edit: and by the way...my drl are on 24/7 no matter how bright it is outside....then when its too dark, it will switch over to low beams and turn my gauge cluster lights on, etc.

regardless he has an 05 which means his drls are his orange turn signals which means it doesnt matter...

if you dont like the look of drls you basically have 3 options...pull the fuse, manually shut them off or turn on your fog lights which automatically turns off the drls

i think your mainly talkin bout when you turn the car on when its dark enough outside for the headlights to come on.. if thats the case there is two easy ways to do this with out messin with the dic and 1 is to crank the car as soon as you tuen the key on.. by doin that you dont give the lights time to come on before the car is started which is what i do with my hids or 2 you can turn the lights on high beam before you start the car and that will keep the hids from comin on untill you dim them after startin the car..
