i got a TWM STS, aluminum base bushing, upgraded shift cable clamp with all new white bushings. you can tell its 200% times better just compairing the stock vs twm. i cant believe GM even made the whole stock assembly basicly out of plastic. everything is plastic lol. must needed upgrade if you want those solid smooth shifts. TWM should've bin the stock cobalt shifter imo lol just amazing the difference. i also bought a redline goods leather shift boot to go along with the project. black leather with red stitching. i figured replace everything in one shot. and it looks sweet. new leather really set it off. ill post some pictures if i get around to it. car is under a cover and snow at the moment.

There's my review thread, has picture after install...

The bushings can be bought from TWM's website, theres a link in my thread. I think it's like 25, 30 bucks?

Now I didn't get a chance to put mine in, but i think it's really easy. I don't even think you have to take off the shifter or anything just take the old bushings off and put in the new.... I couldn't do it because of time and I actually didn't have a good extension lol. I'll do it soon tho. Weather is really nice this week!

i would recommend taking the entire center consol apart when installin the upgraded aluminum base bushings. i attempted to install the base bushings with the main huge center console still installed (main piece everything clips onto) and ended up droping a base bushing under the carpet. had to remove the main center part to retrieve it lol. but its alot easier and you have more room to work with. i believe the main center part has about 11 small bolts holding it down. the old bushings are pretty simple to remove. use a screw driver to pry out the metal washer/sleeve from the top then just push out the rubber bushing.

i got the upgraded bushings and a silver knob with the numbers on it even though i dont look at it.
all in all i love it and i would buy another one if i had two balts.
hey mike you bought the extention for the height or it comes like that?
i was thinking on getting one, but not sure if i need the extention.... i have the arms rest and i would like to be like stock height so i could shift with the arm rest down.

I love mine, just got it about a month ago. Looks great and I have never seen a more detailed set of instructions. Hardest part was getting that god forsaken stock shift knob off. But other than that went great, feels great. Oh and it might be wise to get the optional bushings if your car has some miles on it!

great shifter in my opinion. i originally had a hurst and i didnt like it. the throws didnt feel much shorter, the shifts didnt line up right which ive heard you can adjust but i didnt have to do so with the twm. and the hurst just felt cheap. with this sts you definitely notice it being shorter which is great other than the boot being all bunched up but i deal. the twm is a great buy. i just got the knob that comes with it and if i decide to get an upgraded one ill do so later. all in all its a great buy man.
