How do you think this would look?

I'm deciding on getting an OEM style carbon fiber hood, and getting chrome hood pins, for it.

Does anyone think that would look good on my car or gay?

That's what my thoughts were, some guy I talked to at this bodyshop said that the CF hood will crack though if I don't use pins... I thought CF was supposed to be strong, he said something about the pressure on the hood lock thing would buckle it or some ****... that's why I brought up hood pins.

The problem with carbon fiber is bottom of the hood is fiberglass and the mounting point for the latch is in the fiberglass. Wind getting under the hood can potenetially rip the bolts out of the fiberglass, which in turn would open your hood well driving.

I would never, ever run a CF or fiberglass hood without hood pins. In your case I'd get black hood pins.

depends on what they use as re-enforcement, I'd ask about that. But as long as you don't slam it closed it should be ok.

Yeah, the place I was going to get my hood through wants like $200 to install hood pins which is ******* ridiculous, I can't see how I would give someone $200 to drill 2 holes in my hood.

BUT I'm also afraid to drill the holes myself I don't want to **** anything up...

I might just take it to a bodyshop where they will probably only charge a few bucks...

Get the aerocatch hood pins. Best hood pins in the world. They look clean too...

I have them on my CF hood.

I've had my fiberglass hood for about 2.5 years now and had no problems. The latch still looks great!

You have to use a step drill bit when you drill CF.

That's why I'm just tempted to use the latch, but I also don't want to risk destroying the expensive ass hood.

So that's why it's so much?

I'm sure another place can do me a better deal though, I just have to look around.

Why do you say that? just because it looks wierd to you or what?

I'm still deciding on a design, I've got a couple weeks to decide yet.
