how to get wax off the plastic on your mirrors?
Well ladies and gents this is why you don't let your 16 year old cousin help you detail your car. I thought I was being nice because he is in love with my car and wants to learn to detail like I do because he says I have the "best looking car in town", well not now. My driver mirror has some wax on it. It's on the black plastic part and I can't seem to get it out. Any suggestions?

If you want to go out and spend the chunk of change (anout $16) on ICE by Turtle wax it is worth it. I don't really like it as a wax/polish for the paint of the car but it does wonders on the plastic and rubber pieces. It gives them that "tire shine" look without being greasy to the touch and it lasts a few weeks on the plastics/rubbers.

i have gotten wax off of my plastic mirror pieces with mineral spirits, gasoline....basically, if it strips wax off the paint...it'll take it off of your mirrors

i used ICE on it...took alot of it off, but there are still spots where its stayed. maybe i need to hit it again. Id DEFINTLY reccomend ice for all the plastics and rubber on the outside., but it just isnt a substitute for regular wax on the paint.
id get some ice and give it a try.

Where do you get that stuff at? I am a Mequires guy for the most part. I also have used Zaino brothers on past cars, but not on this one because it seems to work best on dark colors.
I may give ICE a shot. I will have to go get some the next time I am out of town.

Try an eraser....it worked for me...Not a course one...just a regular one. Get one that large and comes to an angle that doesn't go on a pencil. The angled grooves fit in tight spots. Then hit it up with some Back to Black

Believe it or not, the REAL trick that most dealerships use (high end dealerships) is to buy some really good peanut butter, like Laura Scudders, and use ONLY the oil that floats on the surface.
Rub some of that on the milky spots with a clean cloth and it should take it right off.
Good luck with that.
