I didn't realize it was illegal not to have reverse lights. I'm not advocating putting red bulbs in the reverse light housing, but I ran without reverse lights in my 77 Vega for about 6 years without ever getting a ticket or failing an inspection. And it has a SBC 350 and LOUD exhaust (magnaflow race bullets).

 

I see you are in Alsip. I'll keep an eye out for a Cobalt that has illegal lighting and silly stripes on the fender.
