Hub Caps

I've got a '05 4 door with the screw on 4 lug hub caps. I want to change them to some other style cap. I'll probably have to change long lugs so aftermarket caps will fit. Does anybody know if aftermarket 15" caps will work? Is there enough depth to the wheel lip for aftermarket caps to grip? I'm not going to replacement wheels cause there's a lot of wheel thieves around here. Plus I work in some really bad neighborhoods. I just don't like the look of the current hub caps.

mike25: Thanks for your reply. What inexpensive 15" wheels will fit this thing? I lost my ass trading a 2001 P.U. for this little tin can. Big mistake. Cobalt is rated worst in reliability in Chevy line. Somethings gotta be out there that fits and don't cost a ton of money. Wait I know '57 chevy had 15" rims, I could use them but they had 5 holes like most grownup cars.

mike25: Thanks for your reply. I bum rapped the car in response to the semi, neo, quasi, retardo, responses I got (other than yours). I actually like the little Cobalt. I always make the mistake of going the cheap route when buying a car or truck. I've only had the Cobalt 2 weeks and I'm thinking I should have got a 2 door with a couple options like power windows for one. Wheels are stock 15 in. and I think 4X100 with 12X1.50 w 60 degree mate to wheel lugs. So I'm looking for some non stock wheels for as cheap as possible. Also am trying to find out if 2 dr. spoiler will fit a 4 dr.. THANKS

Bignugly..... Sounds like you regret buying a Sedan. Don't be...... Everybody is modding coupes. Be different and mod a sedan. There are a few Sedans on here that are pretty sweet. As far as rims, maybe look at getting a set of factory 15's or maybe even 16's. I have the 16's on my sedan, I think they look good. IMO I don't think the factory rims are as likely to be stolen. If you want check out my garage.....I think my Cobalt is coming along nicely.

blkcobalt: Your ride is looooking good. I'm kinda casho shorto right now, so I think I'll drive it for a while and see if I like it well enough to put a lot of money in it. I live in N.W. Indiana 15 miles from the Chicago border. Just east of me is Gary, the murder capitol of the U.S.. I don't want to have to shoot somebody over rims, and risk hitting the car. The court time is a PIA. A couple months ago some bangers jacked a guys car up across the street and put cinder blocks under it. Then they got the wheels. The whole deal took about 5 mins they figure. Now the kids got an alarm that goes off if a bird ***** on it. Very irritating.

Bulletproof vest on, prepared for any shots under .30 caliber. I found some decent looking rims at "Pep Boys". Ever heard of this auto parts chain? For under $300 (for 4) I can get what looks like steel rim with 5 spoke mag center. Didn't really look but I think it's a mag rip off 2 piece deal. $268 gets me wheels. I gotta buy lugs and pay for installation. They look fine but is this **** stuff?

I got my rims for 400$ shipped on ebay. There are some way cheeper. Just search civic rims and you will have 9827328 pages
