I Am An Idiot

I have no idea if this has been posted before yet or not but i wanted to get this out before someone else makes my mistake. So here goes. The other day i pulled apart my headlights and painted the chrome black. Needless to say it looked gorgeous. However, I went down to the local parts store to find some headlight sealer. After confusing the hell out of the salesman as to what it was i was looking for...they aren't the smartest either...i settled for gray rtv silicon. it looked exactly like the sealant they used from the factory. Well...its not. apparently the silicon reacts with the clear lense. My headlights are completely fogged over now and looks terrible. So, if anyone out there has a set of stock headlights laying around hit me up. I don't mind calling myself out for being an idiot for the good of the rest of yall.

Hmmm thats odd. I've used black RTV in the past with no problems. Maybe it was the wrong type.

I used black rtv myself. Did you let it set up and dry for a long period? Also if you left the bulbs and boot around them in while drying, this will happen. There are a few threads on it. Check out some "how to's", that should help out.
