I hate my seats.
2006 SS n/a.
I hate my seats. I really do. I'm a valet... So I drive over 100 cars per day. Well over. I test many cars. I happen to think Cobalt seats suck almost as bad as Cavalier seats. Sorry to say. I just find them very uncomfortable and poorly made. The pattern is descent looking, but they're just uncomfortable. My SS n/a seats has the little lower back suppost knob. It's loostened all the way. The seat height adjuster is lowered all the way down. The recliner is to a reasonable decline. I just can't get comfortable. I can't just "sit back" and drive. I always find myself "leaning over". Naturally. I'd do that when I had a stick, but I don't anymore. The passenger side seat isn't as bad becasue of the lack of a back support thing. The bottoms aren't very soft, and the material like folds up. It gets ripples in it. Poor construction? When I drive RSX's and things, I couldn't be more comfortable in a small car. What's wrong here? Is there ANYTHING I can do? I hate my seats.

To averagewhiteboy:
I pull in at 6'1" 165. Cobalt LT with the "Premium sport cloth" seats and I have these suggestions. Start cranking up on the driver seat until there's about 1" clearence between your thighs and the seat bottom. Position the seat at a comfortable (NOT ghetto ride) recline and close enough to the wheel that your arms and knees are bent almost 70 - 80 degrees. Then make use of the dead pedal for your left foor and find a nook for your right when you've got the cruise on.
I had huge issues with the seats in my Cobalt until I moved the seat a little farther forward than I'd think comfortable and then adjusted the seat-back to recline a bit more.

No, I just sit close to the stering wheel on a car with a stick becasue I have to be close to the clutch pedal.
It's not a matter of the steering wheel positioning being uncomfortable. It's all in my butt/back. They're not good seats. Period. lol.
Even on my Cadillac, I just kept the steering wheel all the way in. I think it looks and feels weird when the steering wheel is so far out from the dash...

I'm 6'1" and I used to BMX. Thus I'm tall and have strong legs. I just prefer to be close. I had that car for over 2 years. I was used to the clutch just fine. Seeing as how I live in Pennsylvania and it's all hills.
