Insurance rant!

Ok so I just got the check for the damages to my car when I hit that damn wire and they gave me $290.00! Now true I have a $500.00 deductable but the issue is they want me to use JUNKYARD USED PARTS! WTF! And to top it off the places they listed to get the parts DON'T EVEN STOCK THEM OR HAVE THEM!!!!! I swear to GOD I cn't stand these stupid *****! Then they "forgot" to include the labor to install the parts on the car! AND they said it'll cost $170.00 to paint the THREE STAGE paint on my car?!? Are they on crack! The cheapest I could find would do it for $350.00 due to it being 3 stage paint!

Side not, DO NOT USE UNITRIN DIRECT FOR YOUR INSURANCE, THEY ARE COMPLETE ******* MORONS!

End rant.

post thist in the thread about using small or independant companies. this is why i stick to the bigger names, even though they may be a little more.

yea...bigger names can handle your **** and they wil give you what you want so that they don't get a bad reputation.
That being said i just had a front end collision that was NOT that bad, and it's costing me 2800 dollars(or actually 2500) haha, deductible, anyways, i WAS going to get the 2.4 SS/na bumper but now that i'm goign with insurance they won't pay for that ****...obviously.
SOrry to hear about your situation, go up there and raise hell directly in person with the manager.

Well I talked to the insurance co. and they said they pay based on what the estimate is and for me to call the apraisal co. I did and was told that if I want to use OEM parts that I can pay the difference and submit the reciepts for reimbersment. So all things considered I guess it worked out ok.

wtf

that seems like a shitty way of working

I mean, I'm a claim adjuster here in Quebec, and the way it works is if you go to a garage we deal with, they do the estimate (15mins) send it with pictures to our in-house appraisers who then confirm to the garage that everything's ok, and the garage then does the repairs.

I don't get why you have to call the appraial company and such.. they have to put your car back in the same shape as it was before the accident.

also why didn't you get the full replacement value coverage? you'd be sure to be getting new GM parts then
