interior LED wiring

Got 2 LED strips from oznium.com last week that I wanted to install under the dash since the lighting in our cars blow *****. I wanted to tap them into the dome lights in the mirror so that they only go on when the doors are open. Wondering if anyone had an idea of where I could find the wires coming from the mirror, and if anyone had a wiring diagram that could be of assistance.

I don't know if this is possible or just too much of a PITA. I don't really want to wire these to a switch but if it's that much easier maybe I will.

i know there is a way u can tap into the fuse box, but i just ended up wiring everything i have onto a switch (right inside the drawer by your left knee). Its nice cuz then u can also have your lights on when your driving if that floats your boat. just my .02

I would suggest installing a relay and connect it to the Door pin. That is how I have my Door sill lighting come on.

Someone posted a howto for his version of door sill lighting. Which is the same method of hooking up I used. do a search in the how to's for door sill. should find it

Problems wiring? I don't have problems wiring. I asked a simple question of where I could find the dome power wire so that I could tap into that because I don't want a switch. Sorry I won't ask for any help anymore on here.

Urban rogue that's for the help I found the thread. I appreciate it

Wiring up to the fuse for the dome (interior lighting) will not work as they are a constant "hot"...which means if you DID wire it to that, you would have to put a switch in, unless you wanted the lights to be on ALL the time. You must realize your dome light itself has a switch...either by turning it on manually with the switch on it, or opening the door. I'm sure looking in that thread you will see some of my work towards the back

if u only want them on when the door opens. then wire them parralel into the door switch. i think its a ground cut off, then just run a power wire from the batt. inside the panels on the car, under the kick plate thing to the floorboard area. kinda how i did mine, except mine is wired into the parking lights, so when it gets dark and the auto kicks in, they come on.. along with my neon (ahem, neon is not rice if done right.) and i have a secondary switch for the neon in case for popo
