Interior Neons?

I got a cheep set of neon tubes from best buy, i think they are about 8 inches long and light up a nice blue and i really like them. The only problem is they plug into the cigarette lighter and now i have 2 wires run along the floor of my car and it looks kind of... cheep. Well long story short I'm thinking of having some neon tubes professionally installed and wired up to the battery, does anyone have any suggestions as to where i can have them mounted for maximum brightness and still have them hidden from direct view? I would like for them to light up the front and back seats so please that that into consideration.

Also, does anyone have any idea where i could go in NJ (preferably around Edision/Woodbridge) to have such a thing done and about how much it would cost me? I've never really had a car nice enough to bother modifying it so I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to it.

Many thanks.

Well those do sound like good locations, any idea how much such a setup would cost to have installed?

it's really easy, do it your self.. just zip tie them all, it'll hold. as for the power; use an 'add a circuit' to your fuse panel in your passenger side of your car. put the red wire to that, then put the black one under an unpainted bolt or something like that..

i did this myself with LEDs underneath the dash. i then hard wired them into the 12v lighter by the e-brake. i added a switch that also has a blue LED and it looks sick. i would not pay to have to done personally. i was kinda a noob to wiring and it was very simple, just time consuming, and it looks like a pro install. if you want any help feel free to ask

I agree with you jusday... its an easy job for someone without lots of experience. I actually put a bigger fuse into the "less important" spot in my fuse box (overhead dome light) and ran the red power wire from that slot. you can hide the backseat wires right through the center console (don't let live ground wires touch the metal next to the ebrake... SPARKS FLY :-)

its not good to put bigger fuses in.the wire will burn.the wire is rated for that fuse.

or you could just tap into one of the many unused fuses in your cobalt. I did that and they turn on and off with my car.

i was also later looking at the add a fuse option... it would be simple to do that, there are plenty of open channels in the fuse box by the passenger seat

Well i had it done over the weekend, it does indeed look amazing. I have them under the dash, under the back of the seats and one 3 inch on under the arm rest, I also had them mount a toggle switch in that cubby hole where the trunk release is. I am quite happy... so what are the chances that i voided my electrical or total coverage warrenty?

Well i didn't install them myself because i have no talent or skill, and that includes buying the tubes, the wires fuse and switchs and haveing them mounted and the switch mounted in the truck release thingy. I think it was a good deal, and i'm very happy with it.

I bought some tubes and a switch off oznium.com, picked up some wire and zip ties from wal-mart and did it myself. The only wires that show are where I have them running into a plug that goes into the cig lighter. I wasn't comfortable hard wiring it, so I did it that route. The switch is in the little area with the trunk pop.
Here are some pics of mine.

How do the orange ones look??? I've heard alot of them have more of a pinkish glow than orange.
