you sure you got all the residue off? Paint might have been faded if the car is old enough?

no problem at all... just get some bug and tar remover and spray it on, let it sit a couple of minutes and the residue will come right off

i took my badges off recently after having the car since june 06... the outline was there and i used the bug and tar remover and it came right off

Is the outline due to scratches, or just fading?

Turtle Wax's bug and tar remover. I debadged my car and it worked like a charm.

Goo Gone worked great for mee too. Let it sit for about 30 seconds and then it comes right off.
