Just Ordered an ARK Shorty Antenna!

Well I finally decided that the ARK Antenna was worth spending 40 dollars, so I ordered it last night. The big antenna just looked really funny now because Im wingless. But I have a few questions for those who have this antenna.

How is your reception now? I mean Im not to worried about it, but just wanting to know what to expect. Please dont tell me to search, I know how to use the search function I just figured Id ask in this thread since I was saying I bought it anyway

Im worried about somone stealing the antenna off my car and I dont want my 40 dollar shorty antenna disapearing. I was thinking of just putting some loctite on it so no one will ever be able to get it off . Anybody have any suggestions to prevent theft?

Thanks in advance for any help

anyone?

first off, 5% tint, FTW.

anyway, with my ARK shorty, i noticed absolutely NO difference in reception. i live about 40 miles away from the radio station i listen to also. my friends take my antenna off trying to mess with me saying i lost it and **** (kids..). but no one has ever really tried to steal it or anything. i've had mine for about 4 or 5 months now.

Tint FTMFW!! I have 7% But yea anyways you will love the shorty antenna. I have it and I notice no difference what so ever in reception with FM stations. With the AM stations its a tad bit worse but hey I only listen to those for football games. But yea youll love it the stock antenna is ridiculously tall.

There is a difference but it's not that bad where you would be like wtf. Overall its worth it, the stock antenna is so ugly.

Bout time you follow in my footsteps! hahaha

the reception is almost identical to our large stock antenna. Your range is only slightly decreased. Other than that it's a great investment.

Hey I got 5% tint on my back three windows! CAN I JOIN IN!? LOL 35% in the front!

Reception is pretty much the same, looks badass with my low pro wing. I put locktite on mine and haven't had a problem at all.

Because you don't tint it as dark as normal windows, you do a high % so it just gives a bit of reflection to it so you cant see into the windshield and it cuts down on the the sun being as bad.

I ordered my ARK shorty straight from the ARK's website.

thanks for the link and theres no way we could get away with tintin our wind shield around here where i live.. we aint even suppose to tint any of the other windows on our cars.. they wont give use an inspection sticker if there is any tint on the windows unless its the factory tinted glass that comes on some cars and trucks.. and they like givin out tickets for it every chance they can get too.. kinda stupid cuz tint is the only thing they check when they do inspection around here..

JRelly, my girl did 5% everywhere and 45% up front, can't even tell its there.

When I saw that I knew i'd have to go a little darker.

Put it this way, in broad daylight when looking from the front, you can't see past the steering wheel unless the sun is shining directly in through the windshield.

45% UP FRONT as in windshield?! Holy **** man how is that for night time driving? lol sounds pretty insane.

I got 35% on front doors and 20% on the back windows, but theyre pretty damn strict here in quebec.

I see many of us in this thread got black cars, sweeeet our cars look SLEEK yeaaaah! (Oh the price we pay for having black cars lol, seems like the wind ****** leaves noticable scratches lol)

oh and not to thread-jack, the stock antenna is fugly. i got a rubber one for 13$ but it looks cheap i wish i got a better one. pay the extra dollar!

^ I think you have it backwards... the higher the percent, the MORE light that can go through. therefore 45% is like nothing.

lol no i know how it goes, and even if i was wrong, 45% is pretty close to 50%, so either way it would be the same tint lol.

i know its not that dark but still, how do u not get pulled over for that? geez im scared driving around with 35% lol since here anythin darker than 70% is illegal lol

I paid $70 for mine, but I know the guy well. He also did the rear window and entire front windsheild 1 piece, so it takes some skill.

Whatever/whoever you take it to, make sure they have experience with that. You don't want a mediocre tint job on your windshield.

I'll snap a pic of it later on today. it'll be from my phone, but my phone takes amazing pics in daylight.
