just recieved drifter 2 body kit

i just got the drifter 2 body kit delivered

i intend on having it painted to match my car (sunburst orange) and put on, and i was wondering if anybody had any idea of about how much this should cost me?

just any sort of guestimate so i know what i'm looking at

i need to get the front and rear bumpers and side skirts painted and installed, so paint and labor is whats going to cost me...

any one have any idea or any sort of guestimate so i know what i'm looking at?

I was quoted $1500 by a couple different shops when I wanted to have my Sensei body kit installed on my Ford Probe and painted.

every body shop is diffrent, the cost of living everywhere is diffrent.. a paint job in NYC will cost more then a paint job in wyoming. it also depends on how much work needs to be done to the kit to get it onto the car and ready to paint

All Depends.. If it is a fiberglass kit.. which it probaby is.. cause i have been searching for a rear bumper for my car, and it seems they are all made from Fiberglass. With Fiberglass the fitment is usually not that good, so it takes time to fit it to the car, If it was molded right, it may go on smooth, if not.. it will take some work. And brackets and stuff have to be made to support it as well. If it made out of poly urethane, then its a diffrent story, those kits usually go on no problem, but I am pretty sure that the Drifter Kit 2 is made from 7 layer fiberglass. So yeah, going to cost a little more to put it on, and watch for bumps, that stuff cracks Easy!!

Holy crap, 1200 bucks for that?... I guess I'll leave the bodykit idea for a few months down the road.

And I believe the RKSports and Gravanna kits are Polyurethane, but I could be wrong.

just don't put it on unpainted!

$500 is extremely low for paint and install... i was quoted 350 for just one bumper, and that's a big discount off of regular price

now a proper paint install job would cost you around 1200-2000. ( I know this cuz I got a quote for the BC2 Kit i have.

Just remember in the end, you get what you paid for... If you paid only like 600-700 it isnt gonna be as good looking as a proper install and paint. I learned the hard way lol. I got 2000 saved up now for march, just waiting

I'll PM you with some places later, just seriously don't deal with bodyworks, they sold my stock bumpers on my old car to a junk yard and their prep work sucks. My buddy sued them because they didn't use the paint they charged him for. The owners name is Harry and he is the most sly, two-faced ******* you would ever see.

Well, just out of curiosity... is it that hard to paint it yourself? Assuming you have the right home-based equipment to do so, and the least bit of experience, that is.

if it was easy, we wouldn't be telling him prices, we would tell him how to do it himself... a paint job is VERY easy to mess up...
