I think lambo doors ONLY belong on the car by which they derive their name. With that said...200 bucks? Universal? it's a sham IMO...In order to get even a HALFWAY decent lambo door style setup on ANY car, you can expect to shell out a nice neat 1500-2000 dollar figure. Also, be advised, these things don't last forever, and I personally don't want to be the owner of the car that has this kit fail, and gets to see their door come slamming down to the ground..Take it for what's it worth, it's your car, your cash..Personally I could find far better things to spend 2 grand on, but that's me...Besides, they look like crap, plain and simple.

if you want it done right with the least amount of problems, plan on spending $1000-$1500 for the kit and another $1500 for a good install.

I wouldn't buy it.
I plan on getting verticle style doors because I never have before and it'll be neat.
However, I will only get it from one of our supporting vendors, like I get everything for my cobalt.
Of course if I don't like it they'll come back off, but, never know until you try.

I've been toying with the idea myself, but it will only happen if I somehow come across the extra money. There's a ton of stuff I'm going to do first, they're near last on my list but they'd be cool I think.

That is something that I would not cheap out on at all. The Door is so heavy that a good quality well planned hinge must be used or it would **** you off daily.

I guess i'd better switch to square wheels then, I don't believe chevrolet was the first to round ones.
What domestic comes stock with interior neon tubes like your two 12's?

You mean lambos or "gullwing"?

I've been fascinated by gull wing doors since I saw Back to the Future 20 years ago.

My beef with any kind of cheapo kit like that is the hydraulics? does it even have them?
These doors are so heavy, your arms would become uneven with all that hefting.

you get what you pay for ..and lambo doors typically dont look good on cars that were not designed with them in mind, they never flow with the body lines.

Yeah those look great on an SLR, but the problem is you drive a Cobalt. They'll be nothing but a pain in the ass.

It'd be the same way if someone were to copy the hinges from the Koenigsegg CCR. Just wouldn't look good.

i think given the right type of work on the car lambos could look okay on a car...but to just slap them on anything stock is just a waste. id prefer gullwing

Yeah, I wouldn't mind some pics of the gullwings on an SS, when they're available.
Only pics & video make up my mind.
