Lambo Doors

ok, this thread is for people that own lambo doors, i got a few questions

1) What company is your lambo kit?
2) Do they align right?
3) Do you have to adjust them?
4) Did you ever have problems with the kit?
5) How long was the install?
6) What was the difficulty level on installing them?
7) Do you have to extend the wires in the doors, when installing?

bump for the day crew

I don't have lambo doors but I can answer a few of your questions.

3)yes
4)probably nothing a little trouble shooting can't fix
5)expect it to take up your saturday
6)1-10 about a 6
7)yes

I've done this on a civic and an integra. The problems were similar on both and I don't see why the Cobalt would be any different. I also recommend doing this with a buddy, actually I don't know how you would do it alone.

I just installed them on saturday. I bought a Vertical Doors Inc. kit. The install was pretty simple. It took about an hour to get the new hinges mounted. The wire extending took the longest. The adjustment with the Vertical doors inc. kit was simple.

I also want lambo doors, but my concern is how much do you have to mess with the front quarter panel?

The kit cost me 1326.00 Shipped. I dont really seeing the hinges breaking with this kit because they are beefy...10x thicker then the stock hinge.

I had to remove the front fender completly. Its not too hard really. 10 bolts and its off. I had to trim the inner fender to clear the new hinge but its only about 3" worth. Its not even noticeable..

well i havent messed with any other kits so i couldnt tell you which is the best. But the kit on verticaldoors is pricey. But like anything you get what you pay for. And i had shops estimate anywhere from $500 to $1000 to install. But i did mine myself.

You trim about 3-4" of metal off the inner fender...You cant even see it when the door is closed. When its open you would have to climb behind the door to see it. Its only a section of the inner fender so it allows the door to open before you pull up. Its no big deal at all..
