Laser Blue Metallic Paint...
Laser Blue Metallic Paint...
So I asked within another thread and got no response... I searched the forum as well and could not find the answer. Hopefully someone can help.
I want to get some paint for under the hood to match my car (just for the plastics). I was also considering doing my headlights with the matched paint. I have a Laser Blue Metallic SS. Now I know that Duplicolor supposedly makes paints to match our vehicles. However, I went to the local AutoZone yesterday and was told by a (seemingly unreliable) salesperson that Duplicolor does not make GM's Laser Blue Metallic (21U as far as I know). Is he right or just uninformed?
Has anyone tried to find this color? Are there other brands I should be considering? I'm thinking I might just have to go to a body and paint shop to get access to some paint. I haven't been able to find any vendors online that sell Laser Blue Metallic either.
I'd appreciate input/suggestions.

GM sells factory touch up paint in spray cans. I ordered the little bottle with the brush/marble in it for my car, and they gave me the spray can instead. Just go to the parts counter and ask for it. I think it's about $5-7. Most times they have to order it, though.
I know the pait code for it:
Laser Blue Metallic Clearcoat 21/WA218M

You may be able to go to a body shop and they can mix this color for you. That may be one avenue to try.
Also, you can order touch-up paint from your dealer.

That is what the site lists under "2006 Cobalt". I don't know why the Equinox is different. I was wondering that myself. Maybe they use a slightly differen't shade of Laser Blue for some reason? I saw a Cobalt in it the other day, then passed a Monte-Carlo SS in it not 5 minutes later and they looked like completely different colors. The Cobalt was all purpley, while the MC-SS looked more blue.
The Impala, Monte Carlo, Malibu and Cobalt all have the same code on this site. The Equinox is the odd duck here.

I'll have to consider them. I still might check some local paint shops.
