Leather wrapped dash?

All the whining from just about all the car mags is about the crappy interior. Anyone tried to do a serious dash over-haul? Anyone tried a full dash leather wrap? Something like you can get on the corvette or some other nicer cars? I think it would look amazing, it wouldn't be easy, but would look phenomenal...

Edit: Actually this is the color I would want to match my interior...makes me happy in the pants...

i dont know how hard it would be, just glue, stretching and heat gun. the hardest part would be removing everything haha

I don't think that applying the leather would be difficult, but making it look good and professional could be tricky. I'm a perfectionist and I do not want anything cheesy looking inside my car. I think I'm going to buy an extra dash and work on this for a while...

lol my mom used to be a seamstress, so she's got a bunch of sewing machines and such and will give me a hand applying the stitched look to make it look right. Looking for an extra dash at the moment... this could be a one-of-a-kind project

Hardest part I think your going to run into is that the corvettes dash has the engraved part where the leather stops. Our's doesn't, so you would have to do a really good job on the ends in order to make it not look tacky.

it shouldnt be hard at all. just take the top of the dash off and take it to a interior shop and have them do it for you. it shouldnt be more than $100 plus the fabric.
