LED Fog Lights

I know I'm posting a million threads lately, but I have a million Ideas.
I also know that some of you have done this modification so your input would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking into doing some LED Fog light strips in my bumper, not necessarily for actual functional fog light purposes but more for aesthetics.

I want to install them into the little grooves in the bumper (highlighted in picture).
I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to automotive electrical so I'm not really sure how
to wire them, what do I tap into? where is it located? do I just cut and splice the wires together?

Also does anyone have pictures or recommend an exact part, links?
Should I do an actual housing like this?

2x6 Car Truck Led Day Driving Fog Lights white 643: eBay Motors (item 150470900403 end time Nov-19-10 14:26:34 PST)

Or a flexible strip like this and curve it to the whole groove in the bumper?

Xenon White 12" 15-SMD LED Strip Fog Interior Light #40: eBay Motors (item 330444460676 end time Nov-16-10 02:29:42 PST)

Thanks gentleman!

Install Location (Ignore the black dot on the hood, i messed up and didnt feel like fixing it):

I used to have those until someone hit me. I liked them a lot. You can tap into the parking lights, that's what I did. Personally, after having done it, I've realized that it's easier to tap into one of the 12v accessories in the center console and wire the switch there.

Nice that u talk about that its one of my future project! First buy a flexible strip, it will be easier to work with and will fit the curves of the bumper.

And if you have excess then put it under your headlights like an audi! (thats what im planning on)

As for the wirering... I'm not really good either but i know that u can wire it to a fuse and have a little switch for itso u can turn it off. But im sure u can fiond some tutorial on internet pretty easily.

I did it, it was easy to do... just tap into the running lights and run the wire behind the bumper. You can get some nice LED strips from oznium.com. They are flexible and water proof so they are perfect for this kind of project.

I just bought a set but I'm going to wait to put them in for now. The ones i bought are made to go under the headlights.

Yeah i like the way yours look, thats exactly what I want to do. Do I need a switch to turn them on and off? or is there a way to make them always on whenever either my headlights or parking lights are on? and when you say "tap into the running lights".... I dont even know where to find that wire and how do i "tap" into it? just cut and splice? - also, which led strip would you recommend from oznium?

Deal. - I only said "fogs" because they are going to go where fogs WOULD go, I did state that I mostly want them for aesthetic purposes not for actual fog lights.

I didn't cut anything to install these. All I did was unplug the blinker bulb and take a real thin wires and put it in between the plugs. As long as you have the yellow running lights on then the accent strips will come on.

Diagram:
Battery-----0-------Blinker bulb
..................\-------Accent light

Right now I'm using these, the 9.5 cool white ones to be specific. I wanna upgrade to these because they are smaller and seem to be a bit brighter. Just so you know, they don't put out any real amount of light... the light they do put out can be seen but only for about 10 feet or so. If you want real light output get some fog lights.

I currently have both fog lights and accent lights, but I don't generally put the fog lights on unless... there is fog lol. They just make my car look a little too busy for my taste.

Awesome, thanks for all of the information man... so do the LED strips come pre-connected to wires and then I just use the 3M adhesive, adhere them, run the wires and plug them in with the bulbs? or do i have to wire the strips up myself?

pre-wired... but you might have to add a little bit extra to get up to the back of the headlight housings. They come with 3m stuff, that crap is amazing... those strips have been in place almost 2 years now.
