Lloyds mats??

How many people here have a set of Lloyds mats in their Cobalt?

I found these being sold by a gent in the a city 3 hours (driving that is) away from me - and after trying to arrange buying them long distance for something absurd like three or four months, I physically spoke to him last wednesday, and arranged to pick them up in person this past sunday.

They were never used, iirc he gave me two variations of his story, but the last one was that he bought them for a car show that he entered his SS/SC in (he apparently had it all the way up to stage3) - he tells me that the show deducted points for foot marks on the floor mats. - that's a completely different world than the one I live in.

So he's apparently had these for a couple years, but they're brand new. (I cut the tags off the one mat)

In all I'd say they're great - my only qualms are that they area little too dark at the moment compared to the rest of my interior, and that they don't have ribbed backing... but those are "small fries" as far as complaints go...

I really like how they play off the embroidered SS on my seats.

When I first talked to this guy, I looked up Lloyds to find these are no longer listed on their site;
Which now has me wondering if they dropped these from their site because no one ordered them...

If you have a set please post up!

also, please share what colour combination your mats are.

I like those a lot. Mine came with black/yellow rubber ones in the front, and my cobalt is red. But i am yet to swap them out. These would be nice to have though.

yeah what you have are the GM "all weather" mats - those could have been ordered when ordering the car (which would have put them on the cars' window sticker) - or bought through any dealers parts department - those mats cannot be bought anywhere except for directly from GM;
these mats are aftermarket mats - but authorized by GM to be made & sold with their copyrighted logos on them...

here's their current site;

I just found that he apparently is a member here (doesn't seem to post too much though), and actually listed them in april here ~ which is about a month before i found his listing on Kijiji (think: the popular equivalent to craigslist in Canada);

HIS AD.

yeah - if they showed the driver & passenger we could do a positive ID ~ but note how the ones being sold through MPx are only for front mats - and rears are not available!?

I\d be willing to bet that those are the same mats I just got though...

The rears are nothing fancy though. Just black squares. Do you really need them? The yellow SS would look sweet in your yellow SS

since the front mats are a different carpeting than the actual carpet, and they're black instead of the dark grey (aka: ebony) ~ I'd say it does matter.

plus I'd guess that the Lloyds rear mats are about 25% bigger than the OE mats - where the OR mats would slide around, these ones fit snugly in the floor pan.

yellow SS's wouldn't have been a selling feature to me - I have no yellow in my interior.

Eh. Coming from someone that never has anybody in the back seat, my fronts never move, I see no purpose for rear mats. But that's me. The OE's work fine.

I have plenty of friends. Just don't let them in the back seat If they bitch about the lack of room, they get kicked out. Now, no one gets in

um dude, i never said i had points deducted. i said they were never used, period.
i said that judges will deduct point for dirty mats. (but i had never once entered the car in any show, or show-n-shine.)
i also told you it had been a few years since i got them, and i couldn't remember many details. i never once even set them in the car, just in case i needed them.
if you hadn't figured it out, i am kinda busy. as far as the 3 months, i had my operations manager call you up to get paypal or visa, and they would have been shipped next day...and you refused.....so i considered the issue dropped until you called again. oh well, whatever, enjoy your great deal. if there was a foot print, it was from one of my employees walking across it the day i took the picture.

umm you seemed to miss the subtle joke there...

I was referring to having the ability to buy stuff for a points judged car show being in an alternate universe from mine.
Incase you thought it, that wasn't a knock either - it was allusion to mild jealousy.

Allusion only, I'm not the jealous type ~ I mean, in the end I benefited from you buying these for that show - so who cares why you bought them, how long they sat, or if anyone ever put a foot on them!?

Also, incase it matters, I thought of doing a heavy edit on this thread after finding you here...
but I'm not that kind of person...
what's said is said...
and I'm happy with the mat's.

thanks for being willing to meet up!

I'd give you a PM if I ever head to Castrol, but since you no longer own the Cobalt, that might be pointless - or am I wrong?

i sold the cobalt for dirt cheap to my daughter (for half what the stereo cost me) , who doesn't want to beat it up on the track.
i assume you saw the balt in front of my humble abode?
ill let her pilot my new ride, if she wishes. he car is just a stage 2 car now with exedy, and a forged motor. so itll go what??? 13.8-9? on a good day. the current motor has 5 drag passes on it, including the husband / wife 12 s grudge match. so if she just drives it as a street car, i will last her near forever. i just looked tonight, the car has 26k on it. more than i thought.
but if you want to hook up at the track, im game, schedule pending.
ps. i got the subltle joke you mentioned, sry if i tweaked a bit over the mention of multiple stories,
but i dont bs people, especially since i am so easily found. i am a die hard chevy nut on multiple forums, and feel the need to defend my rep, if you know what i mean. i go thru parts and cars, like some people go thru tanks of gas. im hoping to change that with the new car, but when the new stingray comes out, (if it comes out) itll be tough to not take one home.
