Talking Looking for Retrofit headlights!

Looking for some black housing retrofits. I'm fairly new at this I just bought a 2009 cobalt and love the look with the retrofits. Way better than putting hids in the stock housing. Anyway I know I've done my research and saw some prices, around 350ish.. Now my question is.... that's the price for everything including the stock housing? or with the vendor( etc. providing their own housing)?? thanks in advance for the help and just want some awesome headlights.

350 is about what a decent set cost in parts (100 dollar ebay replacement headlights, retrofit kit from xyz, paint, sealant, etc) anything beyond that is pretty much labor costs

Theres a good few people on here that can make you a set. Ones that come to mind are bass_waves, kdub1492, maybe me,,

Oh and whatever you do, do not buy from mkulkrey13

I could build you a set as well. not hard to do. depends on what kind of paint work you want done. an all black housing retros is quick and easy vs. having to tape off some chrome for custom stuff. PM me if youre interested. i've built a few sets if you'd like pics.

as stated above, if you get the full retrofit kit from TRS it costs anywhere from $280-400 depending on what you want for projector options, HID wattage, shroud choice, halos, etc. OEM housing headlights (not the ebay crap) are really the only headlights I'd recommend using if you can get your hands on them, which cost about $70 or so if your good at junkyard or craigslist searching (worth it if you ask me). Past that its just paint costs and labor costs (if your getting them made). I have made about 5 sets now and can make more as well if you looking for people to make them

I've had decent luck with the ebay headlights, just have to sand the lens and re-seal with opticoat otherwise it starts to peal after a year or so

for me its not just the lens.. the back of the housings itself is made out of a crappier material that doesnt seem to like being heated up as much and the reflector bowl clips dont seem to like to hold as well in some cases. you get what you pay for is what it comes down to

This is true. I've actually had to use some jb weld on the clips to keep em together. Granted I have to adjust them so it don't give much time to play around with. The back housing melts like nothing. Its more plastic. The OEM lights its like fiberglass pressed together.

Interesting, they must of changed the back material, first set I bought back in 2010 from ebay the back material was the pressed fiberglass type just a little thinner and the adjustment screw was a phillips head

I'm texting him lol. I know what he wants. Basic mini h1 set up. I'm just giving him price of parts and letting him choose . Like a ddm kit vs morimoto. Or supply his own.

i will admit the ~120 dollar black housing ebay lights do get mighty flexible when heated up, otherwise they seem fine to me. i used to have a set that i rocked for over a year and they were fine; they actually fit better than stock lights lol

i'd put some clear film over the lense just to ensure it stays nice on any set of headlights

Ha I heard of this. I was needing it on an Altima retrofit. When I saw the price of 70$. I gave it a second thought. Now I regret it. O well. Next time
