Map Light Wiring (easy question, promise)

Really basic question: Where can i splice into the map lights? I want to put a light that is only on when the doors are open so that'd be the easiest way to do it. Thanks.

Look in the fuse box and use an add-a-fuse to start the wire.

Thanks for the fast reply, I assume an "add-a-fuse" is something i can get at auto zone. Thanks!

Awesome thanks Doc, I looked one up just to see what it looks like can you you just explain how to use this thing?

I assume that wire is a positive, where do I connect the negative to complete the circuit? Also, if I put this where the fuse for the dome/map lights are will the light Im hooking up to it dim and turn off same as the map lights?

ok...this is simple.
remove the current fuse and plug that into the spot
the wire coming off is hot so you will need to find a suitable ground, there are a few places on the other side of the fuse box (the drivers kick panel)
remove the bolts from the brace and place the wire on the post
tighten it back and you have a ground.

If you select a circuit that you can dim, whatever you connect will also dim

Last question, promise.

Which fuse is for the map lights? The wiring diagram is less then helpful. Thanks for everything!
