Moisture in tail lights
Moisture in tail lights
Hi guys, now i have never noticed this before because i never cared to look. Last night i tinted my tail lights; when i was done it was late at night when i got them on the car so this morning when i got up i went to see how they looked and i seen moisture inside them. Now i know there wasnt any when i put them on, it was all in a dry room while i worked on the lights, but i was wondering if this is normal for are tail lights?
I never needed to go out and look at them in the morning after a rainy night so for all i know this is normal but i dont know for sure. Anyone care to shed some light on this

Moisture in tail lights=new taillights. I had the same problem with my 93'' thunderbird LX with the headlights. Had to replace them.
What happens is: if the lens cracks or gets a hole in it, the moisture gets inside the lens which causes fogy film to builds up.
I herd its fixable if you take the lens off clean it real good (get that film off) then reseal (air tight) the lens and the crack. Replacing them would be easier.
sounds like you crack the lens or the bulbs did not seal right when you locked it in. even a very small crack will cause moisture. If there something wrong with the seal that can cause moisture too.

oh btw i meant the reverse lights and its gone now, there was just a lot of moisture in the trunk because i had the tail lights out all day and it was raining. The holes where the tail lights should be allowed moisture to get in. The reverse lights arent seal air tight, if u remove the cover from the inside on the trunk theres a hole in each one so those deffinately arent sealed lol
Pull the bulb out and it's wide open at the back, the taillights are not sealed at all - LS, LT, SS makes no difference. Gasket on the bulb holder is the only thing keeping water out.
Heat from the bulb will drive out any mosture pretty quick.
