j/k, just have him fix it. It is just sheet metal or is the wheel damaged? And what is it with dads and their kids' cars? My dad drove my first car into the side of a pickup truck because he thought he could drive it on ice...

yeah that sucks. least you know who hit you. i went to the movies with my girl came out and someone back into the front of mine. That was a $1,000 dollar movie. that **** does suck

My dad damaged my car too, but on an extremely lower level. He dropped a drill tip on my hood and now I have a nice little ding in it. He was really upset about it though. He's obcessed with my car.

His insurance would pay for it, but I'm sure he doesn't want to go that route.

 

what type of insurance do you have?? your rates may go up if you report an accident... if your father won't pay for the damage, he should at least pay the amount of the increased insurance... if you report a hit and run, they may ask you why there's no police report... just a head up

 

Have your dad report it to his insurance and they will pay it, then he will pay the raised rate.

my father ran my first car into 2 different garage doors three times in the same day.... it was standard with an auto start... he left it in gear and tried to start it and it jumped through 2 garages...

 

what you NEED to tell him is that if you can't report a hit and run without a police report... and if you report him in the accident, his insurance is giong to go up as well... tell him to be a ******* man and deal with it

 

The same thing happened to me on christmas eve of 03......my mom backed into my 2000 Z24. Never got it fixed and jan. 05 it got totaled by some newlt licensed idiot. THe dmg my mom caused helped me get it totalled allowing me to get my Lancer. Anyway, make him be a man and pay for it or take the hit on HIS insurance. Don't wait around either.

 

It's not like he did it on purpose, and besides, I bet your father has spent more than $1,600 on your up brining anyways. I would think any money u get outta him would be a bonus.

Your dad is a dumb ass. Let's say you hit his car....................you'd be paying up. To go to your insurance is a dumb move because your insurance may go up because of it. You'll have 1X against you now from them and if it doesn't go up this time it will next time. That's the way to show your kids responsability dad!!!!!!! Good for you!!!!!!

 

What are you talking about??? You do not need a police report to file a hit and run with your insurance.

Thread starter... go get an estimate and then compare it with your deductible and go from there.
