My interior project (56k=nonono!)
Here's what I've been doing the last week with my car:
Colors are House of Kolor's Kandy Apple Red and Pearl Black. Used their white base coat as well. I wanted a bright, see-through red, so if you want something darker--go with silver/gray base.
Pulled all my trim off the driver's side near the door, the DIC panel, radio bezel, and passenger side trim. I took all of the buttons out that I could (but taped off the one that I couldn't)
I proceeded to sand down all of the silver GM coating since paint won't stick to that. Took a couple of days, sanding about 2 hours a day. Interior was sanded down with 150-grit sandpaper. I couldn't find anything finer in this town, so it'll have to do.
Once everything was sanded down and the dust wiped off, I laid down a couple of white base coats and let that sit for 24 hours.
I laid a couple coats of kandy apple red (which ended up looking like cotton candy pink because of the white base haha) and let that dry for another 24 hours. Threw down 3 more coats of red and let that dry for yet another 24 hours. I still have some surfaces to even out with color since the paint is so thin that there was some running.
I laid down two coats of clearcoat on the drivers side fog light panel, the DIC panel, and the radio bezel (yes, I painted that black plastic thing--it stood out too much and didn't serve an actual purpose), and I am letting that dry for 24 hours.
I just got done taping off the passenger side bezel (NOT clearcoated yet), and put some stencils on there that I got from the local hobby shop model car section. Sprayed two quick coats of House of Kolor's Black Pearl, and will be letting that sit for 24 hours. I will be duplicating the flame design on the other side as well once it dries, simply by flipping the stencil over and taping the piece off once again and applying two coats of the pearl black.
Then, I will be clearcoating that piece and letting that dry for 24 hours. After which time, I will reapply the SS badge and the black/red 'G85' badge fabricated by 24Designs.net.
Also, I ordered a black-faced stereo and climate control assembly from ebay from a base Cobalt to complete the black and red look. 24Designs.net made me a custom car nickname badge for me to fit under the radio buttons that says 'Black Bettie' (my tribute to the always-hot Bettie Page).
Also going into the interior will be a Punisher logo steering wheel badge; black background with red image--also made by 24Designs.net. On the bottom of the cluster will be going an OEM supercharged badge, painted pearl black with kandy apple red text.
Here's the pics I have so far, sorry for the cell ones. Don't always have my camera with me. I will update this thread as changes are made.

One more thing--I will also be doing this to the silver trim on the door panels and the shift knob, and doing black pearl lettering on the shift knob. All images will be hosted here on CSS.net so peole can view them at work (the Air Force filters out photobucket and similar sites).

Here are some updated shots of the passenger side piece:

Here's some shots of a couple pieces of it installed:

A badge for my trunklid, made by 24Designs:

Steering wheel badge, made by 24Designs:

Badge made to fit beneath radio buttons, also made by 24Designs:

**excuse the gay blue pedals--they're being removed as soon as the trim is done
**
EDIT: here is the latest photo of the passenger side piece with the Black Pearl stencils on
I think it looks sweet!!! Still need to clearcoat that piece though.

Here's one of the steering wheel badge installed (which, btw looks GREAT!!! just wish I hadn't jacked up my wheel trying to get the old one out)--had to pry out old stock one..it was just a hunk of metal held in by some stubborn clips--once out, had to take an Exacto/hobby knife and scrape the rubber that had been supporting the stock badge and made that surface flat. The double-sided tape on the back of the badge didn't stick well enough for my comfort, so I just used a superglue pen on the steering wheel side and mated them. Haven't had any problems at all--and I love the quality of the badge. It was certainly more than I expected for how little I spent on it.

yep, pretty much! they're held on by clips. You have to be careful, yet firm with them--they're mounted on plastic so it can be a delicate process, but they're stubborn as hell the first time you remove them. I've got my black climate control and my black stereo face in, so I'll be installing those tomorrow afternoon and throwing up some shots with that and the radio bezel installed. Then, I'll still have to finish the passenger side red/black piece with the skulls...even some paint up a bit. Paint or primer didn't stick to the top edge for some reason...weird. So I'll probably be brushing that on by hand (ew, i know! LOL) just to get it done. If i'm dissatisfied with that, I can always sand that down and try again.
After all that's done--the dash will be finished. Then, it's on to the door switch bezels and shift knob (if I can ever get that stubborn thing off! hopefully I don't jack it up like I did my steering wheel trying to pry the stock badge off) .
Here's the stereo with black faceplate that I bought: I'm just going to switch silver faceplate with the black one. The stereo I got was from a wrecked Cobalt and is XM-ready, all I'd have to do is have dealership activate anti-theft feature and call XM to have the radio ID's swapped if my stocker radio takes a crap someday. I think I'll hang on to it. But, I'll probaby sell my stock silver climate control module. On with the photos!

Side screws...I'm going to need a REALLY small socket for these.

Slide tabs on top:

And, slide tabs on bottom. Shouldn't be too difficult of a process.

I'll keep updating the thread when I have time, and as I perform the modifications.
