My new hood and the Cobalt's big brother!!!

Here are some pics of my new hood. I would like to give thanks to Ray@revitup for the great deal and fast shiping!!!!! they are definetly a class act!!!! The story behind it is, I hit a deer about two weeks ago, i didnt tkae anypics of it because it made me sick! The whole front of the car had to be replaced, hood, both fenders both headlights, front bumper, and the wheel had to be repainted because when the deer hit he laid over and his horns scratched the passenger wheel really bad. So i decided that this would be a great time to do some appearance mods. I really like this hood and think it makes a great accent piece to the car. Here are some pics....Enjoy...all opinions are appreciated good or bad. let me know what ya think!

(If anyone is thinking of buying this hood, it fits great, i would give it a 8 on a scale of 1-10. There are a few places that the fit could be a little better. The under side of the hood is NOT a show piece, i definetly think it could use some dressing up before a show. If anyone wants real upclose detailed pictures of something specific let me know and i will take them. Also this hood could be TOO functional for a daily driver that sees rain and snow, there is no water baffle behind the grille, it is a straight thru design. This probably helps keep under hood temperatures down considerably but could become a problem if too much rain or snow gets in there!)

That looks damn good. I think it's the paint that makes it look that much better.

Oni you can have a cf hood painted. Then you get the weight reduction and the looks.

I bought the hood from Ray at Rev it Up motorsaports. It WAS a carbon fiber hood, i just had it painted. Check in the Vendors section for a link to their pages. Thanks all for the compliments, i was hoping it would be liked

Very good looking painted like that. I was gonna do the exact same paint job to my IPP hood, but the straight black looked so good I desided to put the funds into the motor. Very cool man

how did you get the hood painted? did you paint it yourself or bring it somewhere...? all my local painters are unwilling to deal with carbon fiber.......i have a black '05 ss/sc and want that hood...i am more than likely going with black cherry (very HOT color haha) ss stripes down the car....could that be a possibility on a carbon fiber hood? (i'm asking you because i figure you got yours painted...haha...) anyway...really anyone who reads this and has an answer...send me a personal message with a good answer..thanks..haha...

by the way your 'balt looks great man..true mini reincarnation of the camaro..haha

what kinda weight shed are we looking at though??? if it's in the tens of pounds it to me wouldn't be worth it as I would rather shed the pounds from myself LOL

16-17 lbs over stock. I never would have guessed the stock hood would weigh over 30lbs until it was off the car and I picked it up, I guess that hydraulic arm gets a work out everytime the hood is opened. the new hood weighs between 15-17 lbs!
