My new project: ricer headlights. Whatcha think?

G5 custom headlight test fit/run - YouTube

Pretty retarded huh? I got bored, had a little money, and a spare set of headlights I bought from a member here that I had originally only wanted to spray black, so I decided to do something new. The lights aren't even attached onto the headlight housing yet, they are just kinda sitting there. Taking my partially shattered hubcaps off has drastically increased the number of stupid losers in 1980s Volvo station wagons wanting to race. Who knows, maybe these will get me a Honda or two?

I'm doing this, again, because I'm sure my little brother(Big Brothers Big Sisters) and his 5 siblings will enjoy it. Also, this way his mom can find me and not mistake me for some other guy in a red Cobalt or G5. The kid wants me to get the lambo door hinges too but that isn't my style at all. For now anyway.

There's *ALMOST* no-one around here with those. A couple people do have them. One, my coworker glued an LED strip on top of each headlight of his Mazda6. Also, someone in college who had rich parents that bought him a Cayenne. He put them in the bumper somewhere. Otherwise the only lighting is the occasional Harley with a full neon body glow kit or something.

ive seriously thought of doing that exact thing! but the thing that stopped me was the fact that you can see the strips and they kinda stand out like a sore thumb during the day imo.. other than that, at night they should look sweet as hell

For this reason I might wire them to just come on with the ignition. The lights are still highly visible in broad daylight. Not sure yet though. I'm painting everything on the LED strip black except the bulbs themselves. I'll see what it looks like and go from there. I'm also partially painting the side marker just to see what it looks like.

I LOVE it!!! I wanted to do it, but didn't know how it would look! And... it does not look like Audi! Led strips on Audi are "separated" leds. On your headlights, it looks like a halo "oval ring" haha :P I want to see final pics! Also, a How-To would be nice =D

I really don't know what these will look like, but I have the headlights that are on my car right now to take apart if I don't like this.

i actually kinda like that. id wire the orange to ur turn signal. an either try to seal up the hole or just stick a bulb in there if you seal up the bulb hole put an actual bulb in the socket and just dont plug it into ur headlight leave it in ur headlight bracket or under it.. than wire the white to ur parking light. and either do a retrofit or just normal headlights.

way to be different dude!

Well, I got the passenger side all assembled and wired it to a test pod. Here's the headlight in action.

Also, I think I'll be wiring them so both amber and white come on at night. The strips are hardly visible from even 5ft away, as pictured here.

They are definitely separated. Not halo rings. I only paid $15 for all the LEDs to put this whole thing together, and some of the LEDs were waaaaaay too long so I could have gotten away cheaper. Plus I don't think they make halos this shape. This is a stock headlight.

Apparently I just come up with random **** no-one's done before. Just wait till I get a house. I'm going to make automatic christmas lights and walls in the kids bedroom made of dry-erase board.
