Nice work. What kind of projectors are you using? So do you have an extra pair of headlights or you just dont drive you car in the night

Anthony, keep the inner color vic red. Black will not blend nicely as the red set will. BTW, are you creating these custom headlights for your self, or for someone else? (Meaning, if you like red, keep em red. Don't paint them black to accomodate your ease with the resale.)

yeah your right lsjpup, i have been thinking about that also im just going to do it in red since the black would really stick out. Im doing this retrofit on a extra set of headlights.

as far as the other side is concerned, i havent even touched it yet. i want to finish one side 100% make sure it fits, works, dosent leak water before i even try to start the other side.

I'll be down. lol we are going to do some work on my car also.

today i took the 9007(stock size bulbs i cant remember off the top of my head if thats the size) bulbs and got them to custom fit into the 9006 housing. when i installed the hid kit the cutoff line was beautiful, not like the U that it was before. i played around a little bit with the space btw the light and the bulb and got it perfect. straight as ever and bright too! it took me over an hour to get the bulb to fit, replacing sanding discs for the dremel and breaking cutting bits and whatnots. hopefully by sat (if im not working) i will have one headlight finished.

Alright, so today i started making the bezel for the projector, ITS A BITCH!!! im molding it in place to look all nice and stuff but i ran out of bondo, so these are the pics i have with the light looking like ass, still needing to be sanded and painted. hopefully tmr the light will be done, then its time to start the other lol.

note the headlight looks kind of out of alignment, thats because its just sitting there unsecured

Nice to see ur molding it in . Since your out of filler anyways , and if your not using it already ....go to automotive paint supplies store and finish it up with 3m fine body filler . You will LOVE how much nicer it is compared to the stuff u buy at the local parts store ....typically bondo brand . I also found , starting with 80 grit to create your surface , then 400 to smooth out , then 800 to prep for paint works GREAT .

Once that thing is sanded and everything it's gonna look so good. Keep up the good work.

Looking good so far! The only gripe I have with the projector retrofits I've seen on the cobalt is that they seem kind of plain with just the one projector. I mean one is fine, but it needs some type of ring or something to go around it to fill up the space. Possibly like the new Acura HIDS.

thats what i got i think. the fine filler. i got a gallon lol. its kind of hard to sand because of the tight space. also i am taping the hell out of the lens so i dont accidentally scratch it lol. i'll take your advice on what sandpaper to use, my dad used to do body work so he is going to help me finish up the molding and sanding tmr, another set of hands really would speed this up lol.

i was also thinking about painting the inside of the headlight (around the lens) black and the outer housing red. any thoughts?

Looks awesome. Though I would agree that it does look kind of plain there with just the projector.

get a 2.5" or 3" (whatever your lens is) chrome shroud off of ebay and apply that to the bondo work you just did and that will probably spruce things up a bit
