i was suprised.. just by reading on here people told me that it did not have the clips that the lip attaches too but to my suprise i checked today and it DOES!

idk if they just put the wrong bumper on mine or whatever... but hey i dont mind haha

So everyone with a 2.4l SS that wants the lip go check ur bumper and see for yourself.

 

Whoever told you that the SS front was different then the SS/SC front was a bloody idiot...
They are exactly the same. The only difference is the rear bumpers.

All the 2.4 SS ive seen here do not of the lower lip that the SS/SC has on the front bumper.

ya the bumpers are the same, but the ss/sc has the lip addition, which the 2.4 don't have the clips to add the lip. but i guess some people luck out. I'm gonna check mine after work.

 

check and see if they threw a supercharger in there too! lol

The SS/SC front facias has slots cut into the lower edge to hold the lip extension. Not clips. They are in fact two different parts. They have the same exact shape, but the 2.4 facia doesn't have holes in it.

 

Clips are on the backside of the bumper? I'll have to check when it gets back from the dealer

 

well whatever you call them but the "things" on my front fascia DO infact have holes in them.

mine is a 2006 SS 2.4L

 

Your front bumper has all those little slotted holes in it like in the pic? If so your car was probly smacked on the front and they put the wrong bumper back on when they fixed it.

As screwed up as GM is they don't ship cars out with the wrong front bumpers on em.

 

Even so, somebody with the time and tools, could find a good way to mount the lip on the 2.4 bumper. Friend of mine has a body shop, and i think one day i'll tackle the project, and come up with a good method of mounting the lip.

 

my G5 goes in the 29th to get the ss sc lip put on. the pontiac dealer i bought it froms going to put it on for me i bought the lip last year and this year im geting it put on.

 

The dealer is going to call you once you bring the car in and say "um, this lip won't fit your bumper, you need holes cut in it."

 

That's what i'm saying, someone with the know-how, tools, and shop, could find a practical way of mounting that lip.

 

So, you have the slots but no Lip? 2.4 does not come with slots or lip, only the 2.0 has them. If you want the lip it sounds like your lucky day! I can tell you all that the slots can be cut in the stock bumper cover to mount the lip, but I wouldn't advise it (I am a professional body repairman). I did it on a Cavalier Z24 once. It sucks!

i dont have the slots. just the things under the bumper that a part of the lip mounts to. the dealers seen the car there going to take my bumper off and put the slots in for me. then mount the lip. no 2.4 has the slots but they have the things under the bumper where the middle part of the lip will mount to

Dude, IF that is correct, they are going to charge you THROUGH YOUR ASS.

Go to a body shop. Better and cheaper. Trust me.

 

you're a bloody idiot for passing bad info... the 2.4 doesn't have the slots cut for the lip to attach to. so, no they're NOT exactly the same.

 

alright mine doesnt have the slots i just have the tabs with the holes in them... but arent those still used when bolting the lip on..? if so what holds that specific part to the lip?

 

Ok on my car there are several tab looking things with 1 hole in each of them on the bottom of my 2.4L SS bumper, I'm going to have to replace the bumper because I hit a sign going 50 but I'm just wondering if those are the slots or whatever required for the lip.
