I don't remember who it was. But I believe he said that he has done it before and just peeled the paint off. Vinyl would work, but why pay someone? just measure it out on your car and then paint them.
BTW not to play school teacher but the spelling is Vinyl

Sorry I was at work.
You can get vinel from any sign shop. You need about a 2 square foot piece and then cut it in half and put it on the lights. Now your gonna need to use a blow dryer set to warm/low so you can warm the vinel so you can get it to bend and strech to the contore of the headlights. Once you get the vinel on then you trim the bottom to get the desired look. Then pull the lights from the car, mask the lower edge off and paint it with the GM touch up paint. Let it dry and repeat, your gonna need to do about 10 to 12 thin coats of paint to stop any light from shining thru the vinel. Once the paint is done let them dry for a couple days and then hit them with a buffer with polish to shine them up. Once you get them nice and shiney THEN you can re-mask and clear coat them to seal in the shine. Get the GM clearcoat as its made to work with the GM touchup paint.
Hope this helps, sorry the answer was late, and if you need anything else just ask.
