Need some opinions!

Hey everyone, this is my first post on the ss network
Anyways, I have a White 2009 Cobalt LT Coupe with the sport package on it, I dont have any pics of it yet, but heres one from google:

(This is NOT an SS, its a 2.2 Automatic) It looks exactly like that except theres no lame front lisence plate holder lol. I am just now getting into cars so excuse me if I ask a lot of questions or dont know what you are talking about, but I want to make my car sick... I am trying to go for a black and white theme. So far i only have a K&N Drop in Air Filter and an LED Light mod i put under my dash (blue). Could you guys give me some advice or opinions on some other cheap mods I can do to it? So far i know I am going to black out my tailights and bowties, but any ideas for rims? and other cool stuff. Right now I have the stock rims on it, they are 17'' i am looking to upgrade to a cool set of black rims... (please guys not expensive either... I am not looking to spend 500 a rim like BBS lol, keep at 200 a rim and lower?) I like the pf01's but it seems everyone has them, so any advice would help! Thanks a lot

Welcome! You should do the following: A. Use the search feature first, before asking questions. Alot of the time people have already asked your question and the answer is right there! (learned from experience)

2. Check out the "How To" Threads if you want to find something easy and fun to do to your whip. 3. Enjoy the .net!

This.

You should go with some Konig Afterburners for rims (Just because I have some I want you to buy )

but on a serious note, alot of people do have the PF01's but they do look good, but I guess your like me and want to be different. Roll out a set of wheels never seen before. Suprise us

put some D's on it, lift kit and a roll bar and 10,000 stickers to make it go faster plus a huge spoiler to send massive downforce to the wheels for when your going 200 mph. but seriously do the evo mod first plus the center bar behind the chevy badge and the ss lip, tint the windows get some lowering springs and thats really all you would want for looks aside from the tails and bowties u mentioned earlier then start doing performance

Basically you paint the center of your front bumper black. Looks dumb IMHO, but everbody does it for some reason.

Im not just going for looks, i want fast as well. i just want to get all of my cheap mods and everything out of the way so when i get more money and everything to spend it will all come together. I will eventually add a CAI, maybe K&N. Anyone know about shiftplus? i have heard it helps, but have no idea what it does. thanks all for your inputs. and i still have no idea what the evo mod is... painting?

evo mod- painting the middle of your front bumper. where your fog lights are and your lower grill.

Shift plus- our transmissions are electronically shifted, it basically builds more fluid pressure to give you shorter, firmer shifts. They usually come with three different modes. Stock, stage 1 and stage 2. It keeps the tranny cooler which in effect makes it last longer.

Could find a 2.4 manifold on here somewhere, get a aftermarket exhaust. And a tune would help.

Generally speaking, cheap mods make your car look cheap.. Save your money and do things right that you wont regret later.

when I said cheap... i didnt literally mean cheap as in crappy... i meant cheap as in 'wait to spend 1500 dollars on coilovers' or 'wait to go completely insane with my rim choice' I meant cheap like tinting my windows, brake lights, and bowties, evo mod ( now that i knwo what it is lol) etc... and then eventually do some serious under the hood work...

Check out my LED mod in the how-to's. It's for the center console area.

yeah is saw that post, i did something similar under my dash with blue LED's, looks really cool. I appreciate all the comments, i think I will do the evo mod. I have seen it ons ome cars on here and i like it a lot... but since i am going to do the evo mod, should I paint my front bowtie white so it shows? or still black. I am actually going to use what is called 'plasti-dip' it is matte black and when it dries it has a rubber like feel to it.

I heard about that plasti-dip stuff, seems like a pretty cool idea, but I have no idea how you would get it to shine though when you start to detail your balt

no, plasti dip only for the bowties. And for the shine, i was wondering if it would look bad if it was matte... if not, then ill just buy some regular paint for bowties

The Evo mod should be done with satin black paint. Satin is just one step above flat.
