Carbon Fiber is not something u want to invest alot of money into. its not durable. now dont get me wrong. i like it and it looks good. but it just wont hold up. u can paint it. but thats more money your putting into a hood that will need to be replaced. IMO. Im waiting for this hood to come up in just fiberglass. that will look good

Just don't use MACCO or Earl Shibe use a body shop that your insurance would reccomend at least the woul know to use a sealer before paint. And IMO the CF hood looks ton's better than RK's

Not durable??? It is a fraction of the wieght of steel, and stronger.

I'm sure thats why most modern race cars, including Formula 1 cars are built entirely out of lightweight carbon fiber. Suspension and all. Some teams are even using gearboxes that are part aluminim alloy, part carbon fiber just to save some extra weight!

Can't paint it? Everyone doesn't paint it because you wouldn't know it was CF if you painted it. They leave it for its "bling" factor. The Commemorative Edition 2004 Z06 came with a painted CF hood. You can paint any Carbon Fiber piece! The new C6 Z06 has CF fenders front and rear, and uses a balsa/CF floorboard because its ultra-strong and lightweight.

Ever heard of supercars like the Ferrari Enzo???? The whole damb chassis is Carbon Fiber, (and the body if I'm not mistaken)!!!!

Don't talk about something you know nothing about please!!!!!

yea man, CF is strong... last i checked, a lot stronger than fiber glass. Why is CF so expensive? cause it is worth it. Overuse of it might be bad... and tacky use of it might be worse... but dont hate.

Yeah, i know a kid (don't like him too much) who has a sentra se-r and everything he can get his hands on that is carbon fiber, he puts on his car. That's probably why i don't like carbon fiber too much. One or two things is ok, but when you overdo it it looks bad.

its a freaking cloth with resin and a clear coat over it. go to a huge car show. everyone who has a carbon fiber hood. theres at least 1 flaw on every hood. it looks cool. but in 2 years you will wish u didnt have it. besides. if i wanted CF. i would make the hood myself. its not hard
