New custom front bowtie badge ideas
I am customizing my front Bowtie badge, I took the gold peace off the chrome base plate. then used a dremel and made it flat. I am going to inlay the SS emblem and the SC emblem on to it, by cutting out the center of the SS and putting the SC emblem in the center of the SS, and mold it into the base plate. I think it should look cool. I have looked all over the net and haven't seen anyone that's done something like it. SO WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK!! Is this a good idea or am I wasting me time. Here are some pics

I like just the ss with supercharged over it, it might look good with all three but it could also be too much...
Also from any kind of distance I feel like it's just gonna look like some blob. lol
I'm interested to see it though!

Maybe if you sealed it all in clear resin. It would look good and not just look like it was pieced together. I recently took mine apart and black plastidipped the clear insert on the bowtie and sprayed the chrome part with duplicolor orange metalcast paint. It looks good but as of yet haven't taken any good pics of it in good lighting
I am going to seal it all with clear resin, after i blackout the base plate. and i will leave the chrome around the edges of the bowtie. and I have fitted the pieces together perfectly it look like was made that way. When the resin drys i will wet sand it then polish it. If GM saw it they would have wished that they had thought of making it like that as an aftermarket piece.
I will post the pics of the finished product SOON. And thanks for the input guys,

I did a mock-up and from a distance it looks about the same as the blacked out bowtie with the SS on it, So it should look good, and with the black behind it, it'll stand out better then if left Silver. We'll see when I have it back on the car. I'll take some pics from different angles.
Are you going to just split the ss emblem and inlay the supercharged emblem or are you going to cut a section out of the ss and set the supercharged in it, because that would look good and be nice and flush. Look more factory than homemade?

I did cut out the center section of the SS emblem and inlay the SC emblem in between the SS so it all sits flush inside the bowtie. Then I will fill in the spaces with clear resin so it all smooth and shiny, it should look factory perfect.
Less is more that's why it's only emblem on the car, and it's just the small front badge. It's not any more them putting the SS vinyl sticker on the bowtie like I have seen way to much, Not that those look bad. It is just the SC emblem set into the SS witch is set into the bowtie badge. I like it, when it's done and on the car i'll take some pics. then you decide.
