New paint job?
I was thinking about painting my car flat black. I think it would look great, but i wanted to see what you guys thought.
i think flat black looks bad ass on most vehicles. I have a small blocked and blown s-10 that i painted flat black it looks mean. Go for it.
dude white is the sex...
what is up with people and flat black? The white RULES!
i like the flat black look, but i dunno about on a cobalt. I saw a 07 ZO6 that was all blacked out with a flat black paint job that looked sick as hell
ehh
it would be cheaper to just buy some spray paint and do it your self i dont think it would look good and your car is white! |
i would kill for white
but flat black would look pretty cool though just do it right with a clear coat and everything none of that spray paint shit |
I need to change my sig, i have a sliver SS/SC. I think im going for it, but im taking it to a body shop. How much do you think its going to run me? 1000?
Google Hot Rod Flatz paint. It is some cool stuff and you can get it in just about any color you want :twothumbs
Flat black always looks like the person who painted their car used 10 cans of spray paint and cheaped out on the project.
As a person who drives the same kind of car as you I am begging you, don't be that guy.:thumbsdow |
I'm not going to be using spray paint guys!! If I do it I'm taking it to a bodyshop. Look at it this way who else would have a flat black cobalt? I'd be he only one!
i say you coat it in rhino lining!
flat black looks good but so does white your choice
flat black ftw
i would love to have a murdered out car. Rob and Big ftw... I wanted a flat black car before i saw the show for the record..
i paint cars for a liveing the only way it is going to cost you $1000.00 is if you take it to maaco. Just the black base and mat clear is going to cost a grand plan on atleast 3 g's to have a body shop do it. It's not as quick and easy as most people think if you get it done get the door jambs sprayed also. for instance this truck here i did just the front end flame job and reclearing it $1300.00 and it's not even that cool
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...s26/51chev.jpg my first airbrush job ever $350.00 http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...s26/board3.jpg |
someone should photoshop a flat black cobalt...i'm curious...
someone should!
meh...black is the SICKEST color for a car (thats why mine is black). HOWEVER, as we all know, it only looks sexy when it is clean. and black shows dirt and scratches more than any other color. every time i wash and detail my car a little part of me dies inside because i see the scratches that dumbass drivers leave on my car b/c they don't know how to drive in parking lots, or from the rock chips that eat up my hood. Stick to silver or white, they look clean and dont show marks as much
you'll drop acouple grand for the paint job, and then another couple hundred each year getting it touched up... in my opinion, not worth it |
paint it
greekss flat black does not show scratches half as bad as gloss the only down fall to flat is that minor scratches cannot be wetsanded and buffed out or it makes the flat black glossy

i was wondering the same thing...i was thinking about doing mine as well, just not to sure how it would turn out on the cobalt..
i think on a silver ss/sc it would look sick if you went two tone, flat black on top, silver on bottom and a small red pinstripe;)
