Who cares how fast he goes, the quicker you can stop in any situation is a +... you dont have to drag race, or drive at 120mph to need better stopping power..

I like em, id be very interested in a kit myself, is that 139 for rotors & pads or just rotors??

And you better have 19"+ rims b/c that kit probably isnt going to fit your stock 18" rims, have you actually read the thread or did you just look at the pretty pictures??
On another note, he has rotors in the front only so why would he buy a $2000+ kit he could only use half of??

You SS guys need to back off mkulrey13 has a nice sedan!!!

in my book effectiveness comes before "way cooler", but hey im not "rice" ...

Yes, uneek was very quick to get the stuff out and the product is a very good quality. I got the pads and rotors all the way around for my ss supercharged and am very happy with them. And i find the brake dust really low with the pads.

thanks for the comments guys, I love them. I didnt buy this car to be slow nor to be fast and race everyone. Did research and it was one of the faster 4 banger sedans around. I like 4 doors. + i have YET to see a sedan with anything done to it on the road, not even shaved bowtie. I like doing things to cars people dont do stuff too. gets noticed alot more.

Actually, most of the aftermarket and the Corvette big brake set ups only need 17" wheels.

And the reason you would buy a $2000+ kit is to replace the smaller front rotors with larger ones.

For the rest, remember that this isn't necessarily an "upgrade". They are just replacement rotors for the stock part. I found the ones I bought where actually cheaper then a stock replacement.

It was MUCH cheeper for me to get these then it was to replace mine or prob get them turned. + why not they look nice and the stopping power is much better.

I was speaking specifically about the Z06 big brake kit he was referring to as opposed to most after market brakes in general. According to the thread they are doubtful that the stock 18's will fit but have yet to confirm this.

I've got the same from Uneek but on all fours. I really like them so far since I was du to change those stock rotors.

Cheaper, better and looks better. It was an easy choice to make.

I can't say anything bad about uneek since my paypal confirmed address is in canada and I would of gotten it by customs. Sent them to my dad in FL before he came back in the special note and they were sent there without any problems at all !

Man ignore the haters, those rock hard!

Im definately getting some, but do they make them for the SS SC? I also noticed the AC Delco is not the same, the hole spacing is different.

Looking good... My brakes are still in really good shape, but when they go bad, I'm gonna pick some of these up.

the AC delcos also have their power slots run to the end of the rotor

anyway, i think its important to note that brakes like this wont make you stop faster. If you think about it...your stopping power is limited by the amount of traction your tires have with the ground....even drum brakes are powerful enough to lock the wheels (which you dont want to do of course). Almost all brakes will stop your car at the same rate, and the best way to decrease your stopping distance is by changing tire width and getting higher performing tires. However, what brakes like these do is they help resist brake fading, which CAN prevent your brakes from being strong enough to lock up your wheels.

basically, slotted/drilled brakes will help a car that is constantly braking, but as for a single emergency stop, your coefficient of friction between the tires and the ground is your limiting factor

i'm pretty sure thats wrong ... considering better breaks will make the wheels slow down faster. yes if your tires break loose it doesn't matter.. but disc brakes> drum brakes any day man.. also if you statements were true what would be the point of offering bigger brake kits, the point of rotors like this is to keep everything cooler which promotes less wear and better breaking. having properly inflated and treaded tires does help your stop due to traction, however i'm pretty sure if you compared the 60-0 stopping distance from the ss/sc and any other cobalt it would be different...

i don't know maybe i'm misunderstanding you but i'm pretty sure that doesn't work like you said..

i guarantee if you had the same rims/tires on the LS as you did the SS/SC, and both rotors were cool (no extreme stopping any time recently), the LS would stop first solely because its slightly lighter

its just simple physics...and actually, drum brakes provide more stopping force than disc brakes...there is a LOT more pad to rotating surface area than there is with rotors...however, since drums work internally, they are extremely prone to brake fading, which is why they are seen as inferior.

think of it this way....the MOST a wheel can slow down is to stop completely (aka wheels locking up and sliding on tires), now, ALL cobalt brakes are capable of locking up the wheels. However, if you slam the brakes, accelerate, slam the brakes, and continue along this path, drum brake temperatures will increase until the point is reached where they can no longer lock up due to lowering your coefficient of friction. The same will apply with rotors after many more stops. Now, if your rotors are being constantly cooled while braking (cross drilled/slotted rotors are made so heated gasses can be removed and cool the rotors faster), then brake fade will be significantly decreased.

im trying my hardest to explain it as simply as possible...let me know if you still dont understand

note also that i am aware that you dont want to lock the tires....im just saying maximum braking from any brake system on the cobalts is strong enough to lock the wheels, and in fact you wont ever need maximum braking (on your first stop anyway) as locking the tires actually increases your stopping distance
