OEM Foglights

Ok alot of people like the stock look of the foglights. the like below has the factory harness that is required so you can use that useless wire behind the left side of the driver trim. once installed you can then just install the oem switch and bam you have factory wired fogs.I have done this so if you have any questions just let me know.

COBALT CORVETTE GM WIRING HARNESS 2008 ENDS OTHERS | eBay

you will need
Harness Part Number #25840624

I will take some pics. I I'd this a while ago bit it is as easy as removing the old harness from the bottom of the fuse box and repleasing it with the new one. I will get some pic of what needs to be unhooked and stuff when I take the pics.

And the switchbut before you buy anything pull the old grills out and look to make sure they can hold the fog lights because on alot of lt they cut the clips that hold it in out that's why i had to get a new bumper.

if you take the panel of the dash trim with the dimmer switch is, to the left of the steering wheel and look in there it should be there.

UNLESS YOU HAVE FOGLIGHTS ALREADY, you NEED to purchase the LT bumper with fogs or SS bumper. if you simply have the blank inserts you cannot install factory foglights. Reason for this is because the foglights do not mount on the inserts but on the bumper itself. the blank insert bumpers do not have such mounting points.

Haha oh I didn't remember correctly but I already have fogs and bulbs OEM from a junkyard basically brand new and the SS bumper all I need is the harness and my wiring local guy said he would put the relay and the switch in my dash for 40$. He just didn't think it would be possible to wire it to the OEM switch for some odd reason of it sending "a pulse".

So just wondering what are the instructions to hook the OEM switch to the fogs. I have the switch and bezel from a junkyard too. Just need a little boost here and I'll figure out the rest.

This is a great idea. As long as they still have a bolt to regulate the beam. I always thought of putting the ones with a halo ring from eBay to fill it up around the edges.

Thanks man. I'll check if my cobalt came prewired for fogs. If not I'll see what I do about this.

Maybe after I'm turboed I'll be able to consider getting an SS bumper now, although still tempted to just get the GM lip kit.

I've got a 2005 LS. It was pre-wired in the dash, bcm and under hood fuse panel. Fog lamp fuse and relay was installed from the factory too. I changed out my bumper and installed a new under hood wire harness and installed a switch. I got everything plugged in and they wont turn on. I did direct wire the fog light pin to test my harness and they turn on but not by pressing the switch. I called a dealer and told them what I was doing. I was told a reprogram would be required to enable fog lamps. Since the switch sends a signal to the computer but the computer doesnt "know" fog lamps are installed. So, nothing happens when I hit the switch. He said there wasnt just a fog light program he could download. He'd have to download the entire package. Then he said, there wasn't a package listed for 05 LS with fogs. I think thats odd considering I had most of the hardware installed from the factory. Anyways, I emailed GM corporate. I doubt I'll hear anything but I'm still wondering if anyone knows of a way to reprogram for fogs? If not, I'd like to eventually wire them to work like they would if they were stock. anyone have any how to's for that?

It's like 150$ for the dealer to program the fogs. I ended up going with an aftermarket led switch that lights up when they're on. Too much hassle to make the dash light up not worth it. Don't think there are any other ways to make it work like you want it to besides dealership. Unless you know somebody that has access to Chevy files and computers lol I wouldn't mess with it. Live with it, buy a SS eventually.

hey guys. I been trying to read and I have been running into a problem with my fogs as well. I have a 2005 LS which had fog lights on it but when we got the car it was in a front end collision and we fixed it. Get it all fixed blah now all the sudden my fogs still won't work. We replaced the BCM and apparently that was $400 down the drain because it wasn't that part. So my dad asked for me to try and find a fog light relay to try and replace that. Its not only my fogs that don't work. My locks have issues actually locking the car i have to do it manually and my light for the seat belt being on is not working either. any suggestions?

I got my fog lights working the factory way. I had a friend who had access to a tech 2. It took under 5 minutes to enable the fogs in the BCM. All works as it should now. I paid him $20 for his trouble! The dash indicator also lights up when fogs are enabled.
