Any tips on making the retrofits nice and sealed so they dont fog up? I bought that butyl sealant from trs already and just wanna make sure my retrofits stay crystal clear.

After completing my own retros I can definitely see how $500-$1000 for a pair can be justified. The parts alone will run you around $400 new for a basic set, and this doesn't even include labor charges.

I dunno how much you guys are asking for a basic set but if I were doing this as a side business I'd be asking for at least $700 a pair.

Push everything together as tight as you can first. Then heat it up and hold the seal till it cools off.

Yes, tossing a couple in each headlight helps that random ass fogging normally and doesnt hurt anything

Pretty much; they all say let me get back to you lol. I dont blame them at allt hohgh its hard to justify or come up with so much money for these. I quit chasing customers a long time ago.

Most important thing is to ensure that all if the oem sealant s gone and any any remaining bits are smoothed out in the sealant channel. Lay the new stuff in till it fills the seal 75%. Press the lense on pretty tight, bake at 220 for 5 minutes or so, then press ll the way, past when it clips. I also electrip tape around it all multiple times; gives a little extra protection and looks good too haha

Thanks guys. Let's keep this official retrofit thread up and running for first timers like me that are going through their projects and are excited to see the end result!! LOL I remember when I had no interest in doing retrofits up until my Gen 2 projectors started hazing up from the inside like crazy and the halos burnt out. Now Im really excited to finish my retrofits.

Been very busy lately. Moved on from retrofitting on masses. Just do little projects here and there. Also stir up a lot of doodoo on facebook vs other "master" retrofitters. Just plain awesome. Lol.
Here's a good question to the yall. Duplicolor paint. Over plastic . Has anybody had issues with this paint. Black metallic duplicolor. I been having nothing but issues after issues with a redline set I been trying to finish. Btw. Unless u have a redline don't try to shove a fxr in there . It was a horrible time. But it's done lol.
