yes call me a huge n00b, but I've been seeing them everywhere and dont even knwo what they are, when I google it I just see people talking about how much they love them, not what there actual function is...

so what would an "aeroforce interceptor guage" do?

i think the question is, what doesnt it do? lol it can read a ton of parameters and it shows 2 at a time. You can also hook two of these guages up at a time to read 4 parameteres at once but cycle through a ton at one time.

rylly??? REALLY??? REEEEEEEEEE-LEEE???

j/k...basically it's a guage that can read every significant sensor on the car so you can monitor what's going on. Great for tuners and diagnostic purposes. Gives live data as oppose to waiting for a tech 2 or scandata to read history.

no, they can't clear codes...they just give you live data. You would need a dual interactive scanner for that, like a gm tech 2 or a SNAP-ON scanner. But those can cost close to 10-12k. OR you can just purchase HP Tuners, which can clear codes and allow you to tweak your pcm.

Wrong they can, DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) can be accessed and cleared via menu options. This essential feature will help the gauge to pay for itself the first time the check engine light comes on. Those that have modified their vehicle will find this very handy when a sensor, vacuum line, etc. has been inadvertently left disconnected, or something was just not put back together properly.

How do these hook up? Just a 12V source and plug into your computer connector?

You can pick up a basic OBDII code reader from your local parts store for like $150. I carry one in my glove box You can't scope parameters or test individual circuits with it like you can with tech 2, genesis, verus, etc. but you can read DTC's and clear them.

Interceptors are the **** and i regret selling mine. I thought i was gonna sell the car so i let them go. I am for sue gonna buy another dual setup.

Will it be cheaper to go directly through them or OTTP?

Yep. I have an interceptor. Probably one of the best investments you can buy if you know what your looking at when it comes to LTFTs,STFTs,IATs,AFR... you can see a problem happening before the CEL even comes up as in my case when my car stuttered for a brief second and my fuel trims went super negative. Checked my AFR and it was lower than AFR CMD.

^ = boost leak. checked everything and couldnt find the leak. Continued to drive thinking it was a fluke and it would correct itself. never did. CEL pops on and car goes into limp mode the next day. LTFT was -18.0, wtf!!??!

check again. cant find anything. Bring it to the dealer, tell them I have a boost leak somewhere but I have no idea where, good luck!.

Get a call later on saying they found it. Vac line popped off the lower charge piping snapping the stem off so they needed to replace the whole damn charge pipe. Parts were on back order so they had the car for a week and a half.... it sucked.

OH yeah, you can read codes, clear them, set up the thing to read 8 different parameters and cycle through them 2 at a time for any given time you decide. You can also change how quickly it takes a new reading.... which is pretty good for things that fluctuate like crazy, slow down the read time and you can see if you have any real changes or drifts in your data. You can data log.... havent tried it but its there.

Not true (kinda) .. you'll still need a WB add on to get your AFR .. and it's almost $200 just for the add-on
