... now before you all rip me apart for posting this.. i know its on backorder, i have a hood on backorder that i ordered about a month or so ago.. and i was wondering how much longer the back order is going to be and when vendors are going to begin to get Cf products again..

 

It all depends on the Government. these distributors cant even get it from the Manufacturers because of the Governments power. The Government is preparing something im sure of that

 

yeahh i know about that, but i was wondering if anyon actually knew when they government was going to allow the distribution of it again.. Badgirl posted a nice thread about it.. just wondering if anyone has any info.. im getting tired of waiting!!!!!

 

i can order about 10 cf hoods for my car right now. sucks about the shortage. i'm sure companies from now on will overstock their shelves with cf incase this happens again.

 

I want to order that center spoiler section for my SS. I wonder if those will be backordered as they are only a small product.

 

Thats a whole spoiler btw not just the center section i think.
Might be better to just go to a body shop and have them wrap the center of the one you already have in CF. Plus its cheaper and ya dont have to get a whole new one.

 

Im pretty sure its just the center section, well the one from cobalt addiction anyways.

 

I saw on VIS Racing's website that they state they have secured enough raw CF to last them into 2007, I think it all depends on who and where the cf is going. saavy businesses would have to secure enough to facilitate their making money....
BTW the Cobalt-Add wing is the whole thing, but you can use just the center on your stock wing if you want....

If only a few companies still have some the prices will go up, so unless you're willing to spend more, I'd prolly just wait... thats just me though.

you would never know about the shortage because other then us I have not seen anyone else put a notice up on their webpages to let customers know.

 

So the question is: are there factories out there that make carbon fibre and ship it to companys to make products And the gov't is getting the carbon fibre before it can be made in products. or is the gov't getting first dibs on products?

 

i think it all stems from the makers of the carbon fiber weave. if the parts manufacturers have nothing to work with they cant make hoods, and wings and other cf parts which then limits the amount of products vendors carry because right now the demand is much higher then the supply out there and getting our hands on product requires us to wait and be on a waiting list just like everyone else. a lot of places have started waiting lists for customers which is encouraged because of how severe this has become.
if you go on a waiting list, then as the parts become available they are sold.

 

i figured that it was gonna be used on the jsf and f22. predators as well. didnt know they were using it on the dream and the a380. thats going to put one hell of a dent in supply if they can ever get either airplane off the ground. both having troubles now
