Question ordered H11 fogs, got 100W instad of 55W. safe?

Got some yellow H11s off ebay and they were listed as direct replacement however when I got them they say 100W HID class with a bunch of Chinese all over them. I don't think they are safe to run in stock housing. Am I correct? Will they melt my housing?

I think they would melt your stock housings, or even your wires... I say, don't do it.

If they really are 100w, I would never put them in.

Some people have issues with 55w bulbs over heating the WIRES. I don't even want to think about what 100w bulbs would do to the housing.

In all honesty I doubt they're 100 watt drop our I bet they're just 100 watt output which means 55 draw. I'm putting some in that were from ebay like yours 2 day I will see what happens.

Old thread lol

read the current draw on the ballast... if they are 100w HID's those EmmEffers are BRIGHT... fwiw the Ballast is what determines the power draw not the bulb... i was supposed to get 55w headlights and i was sent 35w... i'm pretty sure the 55's would melt a housing... my 35w HID housings get so hot that they seriously burned trash/oil off of them...

I have had h9's (65W) in my fogs since I installed fogs 8 months ago. I built my harness out of legit 16GA wire and have had zero issues with melting or burn spots on my housings.

Hell, our cars are so whiny about ohms, watts, volts and craps with the resistance and stuff. I would bet that it limits the output to the bulbs(sets a cap). Redik that if you replace your brake lights with LED's your cruise control stops working WTF. Chevy went to far with putting multiple things on one circuit or however that works.
