Painted my interior today
Painted my interior today
And it turned out great. I'm so happy with it!

In the process of being painted.
My dog just chillin with me.

The parts drying:

Before

After

I still have to put the SS symbol back on on the right hand side. I wasn't going to, but when I took it off it peeled a bit of the silver paint off, so there is a black spot now.

My camera did something really weird here.....its messed up and I think we need a new one! LOL!

I was debating on painting the center section between the radio and HVAC knobs, But I decided I wanted it consistant through the center.

I painted the interior in my Cav and thats all I painted.
I only plan to paint what I already painted and my taillights...I already painted my headlights. I'm debating if I want to paint the little door pieces or not....I just don't want them to be all scratched to hell after a month.

Oooo!!
Did you paint them on the kitchen table??? That's a big
in our house. My wife would take my Cobalt keys if she saw that when she came home!
The end result came out nice. I'm proud of you!!
The dog looks like it's going... Grrrr grrr!
Hurry up and paint them taillights girl!!

You just pull really hard and they pop off....but
My husband and I went to pull the interior parts out last night so I could paint them today. I told him, "Everyone said just pull. And don't be afraid to pull hard." He's sitting in there pulling like a ***** and trying to use a flathead screw driver. And hes like "I can't get it off, so you're not going to be able to paint it." I rolled my eyes and hes like "You try." I went up to the piece (the one with the foglight button and such) and I just pulled and it came off. I had to do that with all of the dash pieces because he thought he was going to break them! *shakes head*
Much easier to take apart the Cobalt dash than the Cav dash.
RedEcotecSS: The only thing you posted that I may end up painting is my fuel rail.
Remedy: Yeah, I gave my dog a treat for being good and he just sat with it in his mouth for over an hour without eating it...thats why he had a weird face. I was going to paint my taillights today, but I didn't want to be rushed when doing it and we are planning on taking my car out of town tomorrow....I'd rather do it on a weekend that I know I probably wont' need my car. They will get done soon though, promise!
Oh and good news! My lowering springs have been ordered!!!! I ordered the Eibach Sportlines. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll be lowered.
great story, i m sure you hubby didnt need everyone else to know about. but i would have to fear i would brake them off too. 1 guy that i know broke the tabs off his trying to get it off. end the end, he had to glue the panels back on.
Haha, funny story about this.

Yeah, my husband said that if it broke, he wanted me to break it because otherwise I'd be mad at him if he broke it! LOL!...which is probably true.
Yes, my dog is an american eskimo. Hes only 7 months old right now. Still a little hyper beast. Love him to death though.
No sanding or priming first....just sprayed over the stock silver with the metalcast. With that paint you tend to want to have a metallic undercoat to make it look the best. I didn't clear it at all. In a week or so after its all cured and everything I'm just going to armor all it.

Damn when I did mine, I sanded the hell out of it and primed a couple times, then sanded some more, then started with the coats of blue, then clear coated it. it turned out good, but now that I know it would have turned out fine without priming I'm kinda mad about all that damn sanding. I like your choice to leave the center constant, I just sprayed it all. Thinking of doin my tailights, already did the headlights.
Yeah, when I did my Cav interior I sanded and primed that, but with this already being silver, I wanted to leave the silver for the base coat for the metalcast. Yeah I already sprayed my headlights too, and I need to get up the ambition to do the taillights....I'm hoping next weekend because the 25th I'm going to the track again, and I would like to have them done by then. And I know right around the 25th I'll be getting lowered too. Just ordered my Eibach Sporlines the other day.
