Painting interior trim?

Ok I painted the pieces over the window control and door locks, I sanded did a light coat and kept putting on light coats till I had a good 3 or 4 coats on there. It came out like crap! I cant find my camera but ill post pics later. Wtf did I do wrong? I messed up my bowtie in the front too. I guess I just cant paint

its tough to say exactly what you did wrong, there is a bunch of things that could cause a bad turn out.. weather was too hot/humid.. sandpaper was too coarse, sprayed too closely to the item, over-application of paint.

pics may help to tell, but its still tough to say

ummm dude.... you gotta atleast describe the problem.

"I painted the pieces but they came out like crap" tells us nothing.

Where in framingham are you? I am working up there for a while. I am on rt 9 in westboro at the university of phoenix building.

there is your problem
1.you do not sand plastic like our doors it will cause fiber like **** to stand up and cause more work.
2.you dont use cheap ass paint
strip what you did with acetone poured on a cloth then wash with soapy water
you need to spend a lil money get a cheap spray gun go to your local auto paint dealer and get a good plastic adhesion promoter.1 qt high build primer, 1 qt paint ,and a qt of clear be sure to get the things needed to thin and activate your paints . then follow the directions on the cans

click on "Gallery" in the top menu bar. Then in middle down, just off to the right side it says upload.

Still dont know what the problem is. You may have used too coarse a sandpaper. try something finer with some water. adhesion promoter is good, but i didn't use it on mine.

Lets see the pics.

If you can't post the pics, maybe you can come by the building and I can take a look.

lol I thought you painted the door not the interior handle .those are not to bad sparybombed . just take acetone strip them and do it again I can ee where the painted started lifting and curled. you may just pe able to sand then a lil with 250 grit then the finest you can find . watch your time between coats when clearing it is usually what causes the lifting. and clean them well before you paint

yeah keep it clean hit the hard to get spot first with a few light coats always finish with a heavy coat and clear clear clear then when you wet sand it you have layers to get the booboos out before you hit paint the clear is what makes every thing good or if rushed real bad. clean your parts clean your hands anddont rush leave them sit over night put in the next day the longer it sits the harder the paint gets oh and keep the dog on a leash.

check your dealer for the price if its to high let me know we have a bunch of cobalts totaled around here
