Looks amazing, this has been on my want-to-do list ever since I drove the car off the lot. Glad to know it's going to look as good as I had originally thought.

You're certainly not the first person to have that same idea. I've seen it posted on here long before your post. I believe two people have already done the color match, one was Rally Yellow and the other one was Sunburst Orange if I'm not mistaken. No one jumped down your throat about copying their ideas, so why jump down his?

i did my dash pieces DupliColor Cherry Red, as well as inside my gauges and the bezel. it was a good match to the seat and door inserts i think. i clear coated the gauge shroud as well to keep the glossiness all over. also removed the dash SS badge from the passenger side to fully complete debadging. i'll try to get some pics soon.

hmmm, liked the idea of it better than it turned out.

think it might look better if the hvac control panel wasn't still silver. masking it off to preserve the little light holes would be pointless, but did you consider something like masking off perfect circles just outside the indicators, then painting blue around those? if you did your knobs silver to match that, it might not look that bad. just seems unfinished to me now, though.

That looks really good. I've been thinking about painting the vent colors, but with my bright yellow car, I'm wondering if it's going to come out more rice than some understated darker colors

Yeah i was thinking that but then i think it wouldve been too much blue. I love the way it turned out tho. All that matters is how i like it.

well it looks really clean in person, looks very stock. also you cant really tell with how the sun is hitting the HU in that pic but that
HU's silver and the HVAC silver are very similar in color which makes it look pretty nice.

heres a really bad photoshop of how it might look with the hvac painted blue too, in my opinion its just a little too much,
but others might like it like that, to every man his own of course, but in my opinion how it looks without the hvac painted looks awwwwesome.

yea, but you can paint it any color you want... so if you had red inserts you could paint it red, any color would go with black, yellow with yellow, blue with blue. get it?

i like this idea but leaving the center pieces the stock silver and then doing the rest color matched.

playswitcars, did you do this yourself or did you take it to a body shop?

That's exactly how I want to do mine, leave the whole center with the radio and HVAC silver and just paint the trim around it.

they look better on that camera, you should have molded that dash kit right into the bezel, and made it seemless, that is what i did with mine, i think it will look sick when it is all done, however it wont see paint for prolly another week... good work man

Does a base car come with all black trim? I'm getting a new radio and might want to change over instead of paint, but it looks nice like that.
