plasti dipped and CF... yum.
plasti dipped and CF... yum.
Recently have been doing some upgrades to the exterior. Added fender stripes done up in 3M Di-Noc and plasti dipped the rims, blacked out the headlights mainly to tie everything together ( evo and grille mod). Whatcha guys think?

Aww thanks. I LOVE your color car. Sadly, i couldnt find an SS in that color.
Yeah, its a love it or hate it thing around here. I will say i got into a nice debate with my friend over it. He insisted i was copying dodge cars. Actually, the same guy involved in the epic Charger vs Cobalt race thread awhile ago.
Well no, hence the Di-Noc statement in the thread...
And yeah, i havent really had a day off since i got everything put on to take good day pics. It happened over a weeks time (fender stripes, then lights, then wheels). Plus its still on 4x4 status.

when you look at that first pic with the beautiful shiny wheels on silver paint do you not regret dipping them? :/ I love stock SS chrome wheels, they're beautiful, I find spraying them flat black cheapens the cars look.
but beyond the wheels I LOVE everything else, the headlights, lower bar and fender stripes look fantastic

However, with the evo mod and upper grille mod as well as the stripes, the wheels began to look out of place and bling blingy. Things got even worse when i installed the headlights.

It just looks really awkward. I feel the plasti dipped wheels really pulled the look together. I also purchased the Glossifier for the dip, but i've yet to coat the rims in it. Im actually debating.
Ha, yeah, they do resemble each other.
OP knows what I'm talking about
haha, yeah, that is a pet peeve of mine. HAD to follow the fender/bumper cut.

Ehh.. 39 bucks or something? i just wanted them cuz they were precut, seemed the right thickness (which i am happy with, i don't like the thin stripes much) and had the pinstripes on either side. but they would have needed to be about 5" longer to meet that headlight angle
